  • "Beautiful modern cottage very near the centre of Stow."

We really enjoyed our stay and the cottage felt very homely and cosy. Plenty of room and all the decoration was very warm and welcoming. Thank you for the welcome snacks!

Thank you for your positive feedback. We are very pleased that you had a comfortable stay and enjoyed the welcome goodies. We hope we can welcome you back again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Really lovely property and more spacious than the photos suggest."

Lots of crockery and a good range of saucepans and oven ware which we appreciated. The property was spacious and lovely and warm for a winter stay. Plenty of local walks , pubs and shops to explore. It was a wonderful space for our family holiday. The only thing to have improved it would have been a larger kettle as it was max 4 cups and there were 5 of us. Also a pair of oven gloves would have been useful but these are tiny niggles.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this review. We're glad you loved the property anf found it to be well equipped. We will pass on your suggestions to the Property Manager and hope to welcome you again in the future. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "East View is a fabulous house, lovely decor, well equipt and comfortable."

The garden is safe for children and we found it a very quiet location. Stow on the Wold has lots of cafes, pubs and shops with a coop and large Tesco's in easy walking distance. It's a great base for many attractions and local towns. We visited Cotswold wildlife park and the model village at Bourton on the water, which were very close. Oxford, Leamington Spa, Warwick and Stratford on Avon are a little further, but within an hour's drive.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your time away and that you took full advantage of surrounding area of Stow-on-the-Wold. We hope that we can welcome you again one day soon. Best wishes, Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "This was a beautiful house which was very much a home from home."

It was spotlessly clean, modern and welcoming. The centre of Stow was just a 5 minute walk and the picturesque Bourton on the Water a 10 minute drive. Easy accessible parking for two cars under cover, and clear instructions provided on how to access the keys for the property. The only negative observation is not being able to access the property until 5pm which was much later than other holiday rentals we’ve stayed at previously. We had a lovely break at Eastview and would highly recommend this lovely home.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We're delighted to know that you enjoyed your stay at East View and loved the convenient location too. We have now amended the check in time to 4pm in line with most of our properties so thank you for bringing this to our attention. We would love to welcome you again. • "Very clean and nicely decorated."

All appliances are high-end and practically new. Maintenance was very responsive as well. Close to downtown - just a very short walk. Very quiet and calm. Private. Spacious. Even has a little play room for kids. Can be very hot if the weather is over 75 degrees F outside, but there are several fans. Would be nice if all of them were strong, oscillating fans. There is only 1 fan that works really well. But the others are sufficient. Black-out shades in the bedrooms were very nice, as it gets really sunny. Owner needs to add a black-out shade in the 3rd bedroom, but the others had them. Bring lots of UK plug adapters for your electronics (if from elsewhere). If you want to stay in Stow-on-the-Wold, I wouldn't hesitate to book this one. It's not classically picturesque on the outside, but the inside amenities give you a lot more than some other listings that have flowers out front. You can walk around the corner to see all the other beautiful exterior facades without having to stay inside one that would compromise space and comfort. We enjoyed our stay.

  • "An excellent property in a great location!"

Stow on the Wold is a lovely town - loads of pubs providing high quality meals. Just a couple of minor concerns - the washing machine door did not open and it would appear the owners were aware of this but we were not informed prior to arrival, and the heating controls were unclear! This said these issues did not detract from a great stay

Many thanks for your feedback. Happy to hear you enjoyed the lovely town of Stow-on-the-Wold and East View. We are very sorry to hear that you were not informed prior to your stay regarding the washing machine, the owners did make us aware and as the managing agent this should have either been repaired or you should have been informed ahead of your stay, so we are sorry for the lack of communication. The owners are now replacing the washing machine over the next couple of weeks. Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "The property was really lovely, very comfortable (beds were excellent) towels & linen quality & the property was warm & welcoming."

House was well equipped, we cooked a full Sunday lunch whilst there & there was nothing missing. A couple of things to pass on to the owners, diffusers in almost every room was a lovely touch but all were dry/empty! Candles in hurricane jars would have been great but none of them worked (simply new batteries needed) if they’re not told they cannot know. Coasters in the bedrooms should be added, the toilet roll holder in the main bathroom needs fixing, probably just a screw tightening. A 2nd lamp in the lounge would be good(we used one from the kitchen & returned it). The ironing board was the one thing that was poor, for the 1st time ever I packed un-ironed clothes & had a bit of a nightmare. The thing missing for us was a tv in the bedroom but thats not important to everyone. The location is great, the house was comfortable & clean & we would consider staying again it is a fantastic holiday rental.

Thank you for such lovely feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay and we really hope to be able to welcome you back again. In regards to the few constructive points, I can assure you I will pass on the comments and make sure things are replaced. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

Fantastic location, so near the centre of the village. We found the cottage very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, the play room was very much welcomed by our little girl of 21 months. Would be handy to have known where the high chair and cot were located in advance of our arrival plus the underfloor heating could have done with being already on when we arrived as it was very cold for the first couple of days in the kitchen but the rest of the house was lovely and warm. Would recommend!

  • "The house was beautifully clean and nicely furnished."

Great location too, within walking distance to the town centre. A few things would help make the house a 4 star rental. The second double bed is not at all comfortable, it felt very cheap and at only 4ft6ins wide, not really comfortable for two average sized adults IMO. Also the wooden headboard was not fixed to the wall or bed so it kept rattling. We had to place a towel on it to stop the noise. In the master bed there were no black out blinds only curtains that let lots of light in at dawn, about 4.30am making it impossible to sleep without eye masks. We found that the razor/toothbrush chargers in the bathroom and ensuite would not recharge anything. We had to buy toothbrushes as we couldn’t use our electric ones. The cutlery in the kitchen was of very, very low quality and not enough of it if renting to a party of 6. There are cutlery sets in the shops for less than £10 which make the ones supplied in the cottage laughable. So, our conclusion. Great cottage but needs rethinking on the points we have mentioned which wouldn’t cost much to put right but would really help make the place the quality rental it could be as it’s not cheap to stay there.

Thank you for your feedback. The owners have taken on board all of this and addressed everything raised. There is adequate cutlery at the property, we apologise if you didn't find it all. Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "The house is extremely well located, a couple of minutes’ walk into Stow town centre with plenty of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops around."

It is in a relatively new development of houses in a private road, which means it is quiet and private despite the great location and has ample parking. The neighbours were lovely and very welcoming. It is very well equipped and furnished. We stayed for four weeks and it had everything we needed and more. We found it slightly strange that there was no bin in the kitchen, but a pretty minor grumble in the scheme of things! The house is very well equipped for young children - there is a playroom with toys, a stair gate should you need it, bowls, cups and cutlery, safety plugs etc. All in all we had a fantastic stay and the house was perfect for our needs. All the comfort of a new build house with the traditional Cotswold stone feel about it and the location is hard to beat. Thoroughly recommended.

  • "We loved the house, and it’s central but peaceful location, only 5 minutes easy walk from the main square in Stow."

The house was beautifully furnished and very well equipped- a real home from home. We would have happily stayed for a month! The only very slight quibbles were that the tv took a bit of working out, and the rubbish/recycling bins didn’t seem to correspond with the information in the welcome guide, so apologies if the wrong things ended up in the wrong bin! As I say, only very minor quibbles from a fantastic stay!

About the location

STOW-ON-THE-WOLD

Bourton-on-the-Water 4 miles; Stratford upon Avon 15 miles.

The highest town in the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises olde worlde England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly Farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antique shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of Stow, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close to the town. Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds' as the River Windrush runs through the centre, lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the most popular Cotswold villages. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are all within easy reach and make a great day out. Cheltenham (20 miles away) is, architecturally, the most complete regency town in England. A spa town with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse-racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. At other times of year, it is host to literature, jazz, classical music, science and food and drink festivals. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called 'The City of Dreaming Spires’ has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within easy reach, making Stow-on-the-Wold an ideal base.
