    A lovely stay.

  • "A real treat staying here."

Beautifully appointed and extremely clean. We had everything we needed. Was met by the owner as we came through the gate. Having them on site was a bonus. They turned the central heating on for us as the evenings were getting a little chilly. Tea coffee milk and biscuits were very welcomed find when we arrived. Painswick lovely and near enough to Stroud for shopping. We'll be back!

Thank you for your feedback. We are so pleased to hear that you had a wonderful stay at Farm View Lodge. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Welcomed on arrival, no immediate problems with accommodation."

Everything as expected, pleased with accommodation, would be happy to go again. The only concern we had was the exit by car from the site onto what was a reasonably fast main road. The exit was restricted by a high hedge on both sides which bordered the edge of the road. There is no pavement which would have allowed the front of the car to exit the site sufficiently for the driver to see what traffic was coming. It would have been helpful if the hedge was cut back or a mirror placed across the road, giving a sight of oncoming traffic.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Farm View Lodge. It's lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay at the house and we hope to welcome you back again soon. Property Owner

Dan and Steph. very obliging. Could do with a few coat hooks, not a problem in warm weather but would be useful when weather cool enough for coats..

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback and for bringing this issue to our attention. We hope this didn't impact your stay too much and will mention this for future guests. Property Owner

  • "The Lodge was immaculate - we loved our stay there."

We only met Dan, but he was so helpful and really good to speak to. The only thing that could be improved is without their control, ie. good wi-fi and mobile phone reception. Makes us realise how lucky we are as "townies". We did manage however - standing close to the kitchen or lounge window - it was adequate.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so pleased you had a lovely stay at Farm View Lodge. We are unable to manage the wifi/phone reception however, the scenery around is worth it. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Property Owner

  • "Relaxing and homely - the perfect getaway!"

We absolutely loved our time away at Farm View Lodge. A fabulous home-from-home and very friendly and hospitable hosts Dan and Steph. The lodge was ideal - very nicely furnished and well appointed - and made for a worry free, relaxing break away. The farm itself was fabulous - and Dan’s tour of the farm was really informative and great to see the cows up close. Our little girl also loved playing with Ted the collie - a real highlight of her stay! Thanks Dan and Steph - a real Cotswold gem - and I’m sure we’ll be back!

About the location

PAINSWICK

Stroud 4 miles; Gloucester 7 miles; Cheltenham 10 miles.

Painswick, located only 10 miles from Cheltenham, is a town and civil parish in Gloucestershire. The town originated from the wool trade, but is now best known for its parish church’s yew trees and the local Rococo Garden. The village is mainly constructed of locally quarried Cotswold Stone. It stands on a hill in the Stroud district which overlooks one of the Five Valleys and is halfway along the Cotswolds Way National Trail. It is home to a cricket and rugby team and has a popular golf course on the outskirts of the town. There is a local pub The Royal Oak which offer real ales, real fires and a courtyard. Opposite the pub is a well-stocked village shop. A twenty minute walk from the village is the Painswick Beacon which affords vast views across Gloucester to the River Severn and the Malvern Hills. The Painswick Centre hosts many events and exhibitions and is home to the ACP Gallery. Painswick is 4 miles north of Stroud and 2 miles northwest of Slad – home of Laurie Lee, author of “Cider with Rosie”.

Please Note: as the name might suggest Farm View Lodge is located on a working farm, and small children when outside must be supervised at all time.
The property shares the washing machine and tumble dryer with one other property (which accesses these machines completely separately).
Whilst guests have access to all the owners garden, a separate seating area, approx 50m from the Lodge has been created to make the most of the stunning views.
For those with mobility issues, please note there is a gravel slope leading to the front door .
This property requires a Good House-keeping Bond of £100.00.
