  • "Lovely holiday cottage, safe for out two dogs."

We know the area and love the walks and independent shops. Lovely to come back to a cosy cottage with a wood burner. Well enclosed garden.

  • "Great location."

Well equipped and warm. Good downstairs space. Nice welcome pack. Reasonable price. Generally clean and tidy but cobwebs in corners and dust on beams etc. One of the beds had lots on long black hairs on the sheet when we pulled back the duvet (so we were not sure if the bed covers had been changed on that bed). We washed it before use! It's an old property so it has creaky floors upstairs (that's ok). Some of the downstairs walls appear to have rising damp (blown plaster and flaky paint). The downstairs shower room was a bit mouldy on the upper walls and the shower head riser was broken (but usable). Water seeped through the wall above the sink when it rained heavily. The patio gate needs some attention, also the imposing bush next to it which restricts access. There was tea and coffee provided in caddies but the coffee was part solidified so it may have been there a while! Not a problem as we used our own. Overall it's a great location but the property needs some investment and TLC.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Mouse Hole cottage."

We would have liked some information for local walks, which there are plenty but nothing in the cottage. The back yard could do with a little bit of time sorting it out which would improve the stay. Some other have said the cottage in general is looking a bit tired which is true.Especially the downstairs shower room floor. But in general we enjoyed our stay.

  • "Lovely cottage."

Quite well equipped. Brilliant location for walking into Winchcombe, which is a beautiful and interesting town. The garden is enclosed as stated in the description. However it is very small. Our large dog would not use it for a wee etc so we were up and down the road to the park more often than we would have liked.

  • "The cottage was a comfortably lived in property which made us feel relaxed from when we arrived."

It was really what we were hoping for and fitted in so well for a visit to the Cotswolds, rather like living there. The village was nice, the White Hart pub was quite like a local and all the people we met were very polite and friendly. The new Indian restaurant was excellent and the staff quite outstanding. So many great places to visit and Sudeley castle should not be missed, and just a short walk away. Mouse hole cottage was a good choice and we would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxed break in a beautiful part of the country

  • "Winchcombe is an excellent base for this part of the Cotswolds."

A lovely town with plenty of options for eating and shopping. We did several walks from Winchcombe and they were great. Winchcombe really does welcome walkers! The cottage was perfect for the three of us. It helped that the weather was glorious so we could make use of the small patio garden. We were confused about when to put the bins out. Clearer instructions needed, maybe a sticker on the appropriate bins? A few more comfortable outdoor chairs wouldn't go amiss as it was nice to sit outside in the evening and in the conservatory. We had no issues with the upstairs shower. We ate out a lot - highly recommend the fish and chip shop. The kitchen was fine, maybe a couple of washing up sponges could be provided as we didn't use the dishwasher. We didn't have a car but made use of the local bus to get to Chipping Camden. We managed to get to Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water by bus too. We had a great time and would stay in Mouse Hole cottage again.

The cottage is lovely & quaint! Shower downstairs amazingly powerful. Secure little garden for dogs, clean & comfortable. Only thing that could be improved is the upstairs shower it has little pressure & seems tired. Love the actual mouse hole that lights up with little figures! Such a lovely touch. Biscuits, milk and wine very welcome on arrival. We love the cotswolds & are hoping to book & stay at Mouse Hole cottage again very soon. Thank you

The leather chair next to the TV could do with a clean is the only comment. We were very happy with what was provided, and the information about the area was helpful. It is very well positioned to explore the town, pubs and shopping. Great for days away in the car, and relaxing afterwards. The TV needs tuning, as sometimes it took time to tune in to the selected channel.

We enjoyed our week at the cottage and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. However there are a couple of things that could be improved: pillows have no support, towels need to be upgraded and no shaver/toothbrush sockets in the bathrooms.

The cottage was exactly as described if not a little larger than expected. There were plenty of places to sit and relax and the bedrooms served the four (four friends) of us well. The furniture and interiors of the cottage are rather dated but the cottage was very clean. Winchcombe is well situated for the rest of the more famous Cotswolds towns/villages but is surprisingly empty of tourists as it is very pretty.

It's in a beautiful location, the cottage is very comfy and we always have a lovely stay. However in the past there has always been use of the garage, as there is no street parking outside this was a great help. Granted there is a car park a couple of minutes away but when you have elderly relatives with you it makes it a bit difficult.

  • "The cottage was in a perfect location."

It had a well equipped kitchen and the conservatory a great addition bringing much needed light into the property. The downstairs shower had great pressure compared to the one upstairs so we tended to use that. The furniture although in keeping with the cottage was a bit uncomfortable. We however ate all our meals either in the conservatory or the garden which was light and spacious. I would say the only thing missing from the cottage was a BBQ. I don't think I would stay there with more than 2 adults. There was just enough space for 2 of us and our bikes. Winchcombe is a great place. Highly recommended the Corner Cupboard for food.

The cottage was very clean, surprisingly spacious and well presented with decor and furniture in keeping with the house. The extra "potty" flap on the downstairs toilet was amusing for us (2 adults) but would be very practical for families. The owners have clearly put thought into the needs of the customers as it had everything we needed and the welcoming wine and biscuits were a nice touch. It is an old cottage so creaks, cracks and low beams are to be expected ( mum and I are both short but taller people beware of the low beam on the landing!). In terms of position, the cottage is right on the main road of Winchcombe, everything we needed was in easy reach and the carpark moments away, my mum had no issues going back and forth. Be aware that the main bedroom does get road noise because of the road, the other rooms are quieter. Free parking for blue badges in the car park ( 3 spaces) was a nice surprise.
