  • "This is a brilliant house to stay in especially if you have children."

There is a secret room! a secret garden! and loads of places in which hide. The house is in a really good spot as all the surrounding buildings are shops and closed after about 6 pm so making too much noise is not an issue. The house is equipped to service a small army and there is everything that you would need plus more. We used this house as a base to explore. Being in the middle of Wootton under Edge we visited all the cafes along the high street. Most of the shops were small independent businesses and everyone was very friendly. The hot tub was a great success and used every night. There are 3 things that I think the owner ought to address. 1. The gate's opening & closing mechanism didn't work and so the gate did not shut securely and that was a security issue. 2. There were 3 bathrooms and only 1 had a door that closed and locked properly. 3. There was not any facility to recycle. We were told to put everything in bags and leave near the gate. As we are very much into recycling, we did as much as we could. I would certainly stay here again and we had a lovely holiday.

  • "Had a great stay at Holloway House with friends over the bank holiday weekend."

Really great space for adults and children. We had lovely walks on our doorstep as well as supermarkets, pubs and a local car park making the stay super easy. Would definitely recommend staying here!

  • "Lovely house, very comfortable."

Pets only allowed on ground floor, which meant we didn't spent such time in the first floor lounge and kitchen area. Parking at local free car park but it is restricted to 23 hrs in some parking bays and others where for 3 hrs, so had to keep moving car so not to get any parking tickets.

Thank you for the feedback and apologies you had parking issues The chipping car park does have busy periods but if you can aim to park between 4.00pm and 5.30pm there are usually plenty of spaces A new car park is under construction and coming soon Sorry re the pets but people have had accidents upstairs and for cleanliness and other guests comfort, we thought it only fair Property Owner

  • "Having booked this property for a family weekend of for 5 adults and two young children I am disgusted to be charged £150 to empty two dishwashers one containing 6 items, wash a soiled towel ( used by and elderly gentleman in his 80’s)."

Whilst we made every effort to clean the property before we left it was impossible for everyone to have breakfast and depart by 10am. Despite asking for an itemised invoice this has not been forthcoming. Not the end to a family weekend one expects. In addition, whilst the listing advertises a hot tub it is impossible to heat. After waiting for 5 hours we gave up as the water was still cold.

I'm really sorry that you feel that way and it is our main priority to make sure every guest is happy To do this and maintain very high standards some items of bath or bedding may not be eligible for laundering Unfortunately extra cleaning does come with a charge and Sykes are provided with photographs from the cleaning team to forward on to you The hot tub is normally simple and effective to use. The Fire normally heats from cold in 1.5 to 2 hours - I'm sorry you had a bad experience with that Property Owner

The property is the perfect base for walking, exploring, or a friends and family get together.

The impressive accommodation with lovely period features, consists briefly of an entrance hall with staircase to the main body of the accommodation on the first and second floor level and starts with an attractive galleried landing, having a stained glass arched sash window to the rear.

This leads to a delightful large, panelled living room with two sash windows to the front and a feature fireplace.

Also accessed from the landing and to the rear of the house is a shower room, and a light and spacious kitchen/dining room, perfect for entertaining.

The study has a second staircase up to an open plan sitting room which in turn leads into the good-sized double bedroom, which features exposed beams in its vaulted ceiling.

The house has a very secluded spacious and' hidden' south facing garden to the rear which is laid mainly to lawn.

The town still embodies many of the features and charm of small-town life, which have disappeared in bigger places - its quirky shops are a prime example!

The reputedly haunted Ram Inn is well worth a visit as is the highly rated Falcon Steakhouse.

The Cotswold Way is only a metre from the house, and there are many outstanding walks on the doorstep within this AONB.

Bristol with the SS Great Britain, We the Curious, Bristol suspension bridge, or travel to Gloucester and visit the Cathedral or The Quays for shopping.

The TV series, Bridgerton was filmed in Bath and Bristol, and some filming was carried out in the more local village of Badminton.
