  • "The cottage is ideal for exploring the Shropshire Hills and surrounding areas."

We were able to walk to the top of Titterstone Clee Hill from the property and enjoyed panoramic views from the summit. The local Hopton Crown pub provided excellent food as did the Thai in Cleobury Mortimer. We also enjoyed a couple of cheeky cooked breakfasts at the Ludlow Farmshop cafe! Beverley, the owner, was very welcoming and has a stunning garden and lots of very well fed wild birds, a joy to watch!

  • "Beverly and Desmond were the perfect hosts."

Nothing was too much trouble and made us feel very welcome from day one. The cottage was very spacious and comfortable with spectacular gardens and superb far reaching views. Great hosts, great accommodation and beautiful area.

  • "White Cottage is a good size for a couple and is larger than it looks in the pictures."

The lounge area has two comfortable sofas and the kitchen is well equipped with good appliances. We cooked all our own meals apart from one, which was fish-and-chips from nearby Clee Hill (highly recommended), but there were several places to eat in the area. The bedroom is spacious with comfortable beds, good storage space and a modern ensuite bathroom. The garden is beautiful with squirrels and a wide variety of birds and affording lovely views across the countryside. We found the location ideal for exploring local towns and historic places, and nearby Wyre Forest has lots of waymarked walks. The owners, Beverley and Desmond, whose house is next door to the cottage, were very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. All-in-all a very enjoyable stay!

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay at The White House cottage."

The hosts were very friendly without being intrusive. The garden is absolutely beautiful and our dog was free to roam. The rooms were larger than expected and cosily furnished, which made it feel more like home rather than a rental place. Very peaceful and relaxing.

  • "The welcome we received from Beverley and Desmond was so warm and friendly."

Home made cake, fresh fruit and a jug of milk were waiting for us in the cottage which really set the tone for the rest of our holiday. The cottage itself was very well appointed... Beverley seems to have thought of everything! The setting is absolutely gorgeous and our hosts very knowledgeable of the surrounding area. We would definitely recommend this quintessential country cottage. 10/10.

Beverly and Des are lovely people. 50 acres of the surrounding land is owned by them, the area is an enviromentally sensative area, Des is very interesting to talk to conserning the ESA. It was lovely to watch so mant diffrent birds on the feeders from through the window .

  • "Wonderful week in a beautiful cottage in a lovely part of the country."

Far reaching views from the lounge window overlooking a lovely garden. I spent more that a few minutes watching the many birds that visit the feeders along with a pheasant one morning! Cottage well equipped with everything you need and warm and cosy. Beverley and Des were full of local knowledge and very helpful. The cottage is the prefect place to visit Ludlow, Bewdley, several National Trust properties and Ludlow Food Hall is only about twenty minutes away, well worth a visit. I hope to return very soon.

  • "This cottage easily met my expectations having read previous reviews, however the host exceed our expectations welcoming us personally and being there to say goodbye when we left."

She also checked on us when there was a power cut and left us cake, fruit and milk on our arrival. Beds and shower where great, kitchen was a bit small but fine for 2 people especially as we ate out a lot. The location was great for days out, walking with the dog (Croft Castle, Ironbrige, Shrewsbury and Bridgenorth particularly) and found lots of dog friendly pubs in Hopton Wafers and Cleobury Mortimer (would recommend Hopton Crown and The Kings Arms). All in all a great relaxing week despite the rain. Thanks

Very handy to have people there who know the area and could recommend places to visit. One of the few holiday places we have stayed in that we would consider going back to.

  • "We found the travel instructions difficult to follow as we were approaching from the west."

Unfortunately there are no sign posts anywhere letting you know you are in Hopton Bank. It would have been easier if you said to turn up the road next to the Murco garage. Apart from that everything was fine with excellent, helpful hosts in Beverley and Des.
