  • "We enjoyed a lovely week at Rocklands farm."

    The owner made us very welcome and gave us freedom to enjoy the garden and garden room in addition to the comfortable, warm accommodation. The working equestrian farm provided a quiet relaxing environment with easy walks from the farm. It was also well placed to visit surrounding towns and wonderful local Inns. We would unreservedly recommend Docklands Farm to anyone who loves quiet comfort and countryside coupled with a delightful owner who was readily available if any assistance was required.

    Thank you both for your wonderful feedback, it was an absolute pleasure having you to stay, so glad you got to enjoy the garden room. It was great having some little chats and I know Pip is missing her cuddles. Thanks for being lovely guests and keeping everything clean and tidy.   • "A lovely little retreat for the Wye Valley area."

    It was clean and so comfortable, I am fussy with beds but didn't have to worry, very comfy

    Well what can I say apart from 100% on cleanliness, comfort, well-equipped, beautiful area and Marriane is the absolute best host we felt like best friends even before we arrived via phone and txt conversations,then felt like family once arrived, she goes above an beyond and more, welcome tray was scrummy also the best bed even better than home loved it will deffo be back 100%recommend this property

  • "On arrival we were met by our host Marriane and from this point and throughout our stay was friendly and extremely helpful in providing information or recommendations for our stay, without being intrusive."

    The accommodation was spotless, a generous 'welcome' was provided and the bed(s) and pillows extremely comfortable. The surrounding countryside is beautiful as are the horses/ponies and cats on site. Highly recommended.

  • "A very pleasant stay."

    Marianne was a perfect host, very friendly and always asked if everything was ok. We could wander around the grounds and go in the stables to meet the horses. The accommodation was lovely and well equipped. The location was quite and had stunning views. It was a good location for exploring Herefordshire and the boarders of Wales. Excellent all round

  • "The cottage has wonderful views of the surrounding Wye Valley and makes an excellent base for exploration."

    A very comfortable holiday cottage with a garden of its own, also well equipped! It felt like a home from home with a warm welcome from the owners. We were sad to leave and hope to return.

  • "A great stay in a fantastic location."

    Marianne was an excellent host for whom nothing was to much trouble including providing a cooling fan when it got rather warm. What could be better than at dusk every evening sitting in the fields watching fox cubs play and the deer wander past. Thank you for a very enjoyable week and you never know we may be back

  • "We had a great 3 days at Rocklands Farm."

    Marianne was very friendly and welcoming. The accommodation is comfortable and clean with a well-equipped kitchen and a great huge bed. The Garden Room and Courtyard are also available for use by guests. The farm is in a peaceful spot and there is little or no noise. There is lots of great walking in the area, including footpaths leading from the Farm itself and we didn't actually need to use the car during our stay. Footpaths lead to the nearest pub, Cross Keys, but are rather overgrown. The effort is worth it as the food was excellent. Goodrich Castle is within walking distance, as is the River Wye and Symonds Yat.

Nestled between the charming villages of Goodrich and Whitchurch, Rocklands Farm Cottage is the ideal retreat for couples or friends seeking tranquillity, nature, and adventure.

Whether you’re into wildlife, walking, fishing, cycling, golf, great food, arts and crafts or simply enjoying a peaceful coffee in picturesque towns and villages this cosy cottage is the perfect escape.

Set within 36 acres of spacious grounds, the 2 storey cottage, adjoining the owner’s barn conversion, is accessed from the courtyard where there is ample parking.

The cottage is just a 5-minute walk to the River Wye and Coppett Hill where you can enjoy fantastic walks immersing yourself in nature.

Inside, you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare home-cooked meals or venture out and explore the area’s many outstanding pubs and Michelin starred restaurants. After a day of exploring, unwind in the conservatory garden room, relax in the sun loungers in the walled garden, or enjoy a jigsaw puzzle, board game or book.

At night, wrap yourself in the super king-size duvet and stargaze through the overhead Velux window as you dream of your next adventure.

Start your mornings with a coffee and a peaceful stroll around the grounds, where you’re likely to spot the horses, deer, buzzards, red kites, squirrels, foxes, hedgehogs, red and green woodpeckers, and a variety of garden birds.

GOODRICH

This lovely, quaint village stands on the banks of the River Wye, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the wonderful Wye Valley, and borders the Royal Forest of Dean. The famous Goodrich Castle is situated within the village, a perfect example of a 12th century “Marcher Castle”. Nestling amidst the village’s picturesque houses are the delightful village hall, and two friendly pubs serving good food. Close by, overlooking a large loop in the River Wye, is the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye, in the heart of rural Herefordshire. This attractive town has timbered Tudor houses clustered around the striking 17th century Market Hall, and there are excellent shops, pubs and restaurants to suit every taste. Stroll along the lovely river bank, take a river cruise, or view the surrounding countryside from a hot-air balloon. Enjoy trips to Symonds Yat, Hay-on-Wye, the Black Mountains and the Forest of Dean, while The Cotswolds and Cardiff are less than an hour’s drive away.
