  • "The utensils/crockery needed to be washed before use The toilet was stained and needed cleaning."

The hot water facilities was sufficient for 2quick showers. The cooking facilities were limited. Despite these MINOR issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, The Cotswolds is an amazing place to visit and we will definitely return to the area again.

  • "We found Cosy Cottage lovely comfortable and cosy."

Parking was no problem. The cottage is on a quiet country lane and within easy walking distance to a great pub and Burford itself. The only problem we had was the accuracy of the listing. There was no washing machine, no dishwasher and no separate oven. The oven is a microwave/combination oven. After a long study I did manage to work it out. But it takes a long longer than a normal oven to cook. Manor Cottages who actually manage the cottage on behalf of Sykes are absolutely useless. I phoned them twice about 2 separate issues and they never returned my calls even though they promised they would. One last thing you only have a short time in the shower before it runs cold. Having said that we really enjoyed our stay in Cosy Cottage. We would stay there again and would definitely recommend it for couples. But the accuracy of the listing needs sorting as it's incorrect.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cosy Cottage, which is beautifully situated in a quiet country lane with ample parking."

Though it is not really suitable for tall people, my two friends and I felt very comfortable. We could start our beautiful walks straight from the cottage, e.g. to Swinbrook and the surrounding area. Just wondering whether a cosy teapot was tucked away somewhere? Apart from that, the kitchen was very well-fitted out. Excellent quality bed linen & towels! Compliments for creating a home from home! We would love to stay at Cosy Cottage, Fulbrook, on another occasion. Kind regards, Marijke and friends

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at Cosy Cottage. It sounds like you all had a lovely stay and made the most of the wonderful walks from your doorstep, did you try the Swan in Swinbrook?. We will pass on your feedback regarding the teapot to the Owner for review. We hope to welcome you all again for another gathering in the future. Kind regards Manor Property Owner

  • "Very small indeed."

Not suitable for young children. Took 30 minutes to run a bath. No hoover, no washing machine. Very limited facilities. Have to pull the table out & move furniture to eat a meal.

About the location

BURFORD

Swinbrook 2.4 miles; Little Barrington 3.5 miles; Minster Lovell 5.6 miles.

Burford is possibly one of, if not the most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, it is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. Located midway between Oxford and Cheltenham, it is a little haven of history and beauty that many come to fall in love with when they visit. The 16th century Tolsey building, once the meeting place for medieval merchants, now houses The Tolsey Museum, a delightful local museum illustrating the town's social and industrial past. The church is stunning, a real gem architecturally with many interesting memorials charting some of Burford's great families. There is also the signature, on the baptisimal font, of Antony Sedley, one of the Levellers besieged in the church in 1649 - three of the ringleaders were executed by Oliver Cromwell's men in the churchyard. History awaits! With little change over the centuries, Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and tea shops. It is an ideal base for visiting The Cotswolds area as it is within easy driving distance of popular attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Sudeley Castle, Warwick Castle and several National Trust Houses and Gardens. Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold are all within ten miles.
