Tucked away in a quiet spot, this friendly house feels instantly inviting, offering space to spread out, gather together and enjoy time at your own pace.

The heart of the home is the open-plan kitchen and dining area, a place made for lingering breakfasts, relaxed lunches and evenings spent chatting while something tasty simmers away.

There’s a comfortable seating area too, so no one has to drift far from the conversation, and when the doors are opened onto the garden, inside and out blend effortlessly.

Step outside with a mug in hand, let the children burn off energy on the lawn, or give the dog a chance to explore while you soak up the calm surroundings.

Elsewhere on the ground floor, the lounge offers a cosy corner to settle into at the end of the day, whether that’s with a film, a book or simply putting your feet up after a long walk.

A sleek shower room adds everyday ease, while the front porch creates a handy spot to shrug off muddy boots before heading inside.

Upstairs, the bedrooms are laid out with flexibility in mind, making it easy for families or friends to feel at home.

There’s a single room, a cheerful twin, and a generous king room with an additional day bed, perfect for children, teenagers or anyone who likes a little extra space.

Each room feels calm and unfussy, encouraging a good night’s sleep after days filled with fresh air and exploration.

Painswick itself is a joy to discover, known for its valley views, historic churchyard and access to the Cotswold Way, which offers some of the finest walking in the region.

Nearby Stroud buzzes with creativity and is famous for its lively farmers’ market, while Gloucester draws visitors with its magnificent cathedral, dockside attractions and vibrant shopping scene.

PAINSWICK

Stroud 4 miles; Gloucester 7 miles; Cheltenham 10 miles.

Painswick, located only 10 miles from Cheltenham, is a town and civil parish in Gloucestershire. The town originated from the wool trade, but is now best known for its parish church’s yew trees and the local Rococo Garden. The village is mainly constructed of locally quarried Cotswold Stone. It stands on a hill in the Stroud district which overlooks one of the Five Valleys and is halfway along the Cotswolds Way National Trail. It is home to a cricket and rugby team and has a popular golf course on the outskirts of the town. There is a local pub The Royal Oak which offer real ales, real fires and a courtyard. Opposite the pub is a well-stocked village shop. A twenty minute walk from the village is the Painswick Beacon which affords vast views across Gloucester to the River Severn and the Malvern Hills. The Painswick Centre hosts many events and exhibitions and is home to the ACP Gallery. Painswick is 4 miles north of Stroud and 2 miles northwest of Slad – home of Laurie Lee, author of “Cider with Rosie”.
