"The directions to the cottage need improving."
The neighbour next door said he almost always has to help people find it. From Fossil Bank it is not at all obvious and the directions don't mention that the cottage is hidden down a path, accessed only via steps which are difficult to negotiate for those eith mobility issues. The off street parking is not adequate. The neighbour has 3 large vehicles and you can't turn the car at the bottom when the neighbours vehicles are there. I had to ask him (v kind person btw) to move his car but even then was a struggle. When reversing I nearly went through the hedge down the step bank as the ground was muddy and the car skidded. Terrifying! I ended up parking on the road up the hill by Fossil Bank and dragging our luggage up and down. Other than that was a lovely day, perfect location for walking during the day and enjoying the stars at night.

"We had a great time, thank you."
Tor cottage has a lovely feel to it and a great location.
Our only ( very minor) niggle was with the seating in the lounge area, the two small chairs were not very comfortable. After long days out walking, we noticed this even more.
Otherwise, perfect!
Thank you

"It was great!"
Not an ordinary place, very personal. Very spacious (geräumig), we spent two weeks there with our three kids. I didn’t expect a perfectly tuned guitar. The studio was another highlight, spooky at night with Agatha Christies‘. The garden has a lot of potential, my wife would have stayed here for much longer. We‘d loved to come back again. Thank you Jason for this experience. Kind regards from Hamburg, Matthias

"Absolutely magical week at Tor Cottage."
Property is HUGE and that’s without taking into account the amazing studio. Went on some amazing walks through the beautiful Malvern Hills. Be warned though….some of the hills are challenging to say the least!! Property is well kept, clean and did I mention….spacious. Clean linen and towels provided, lots of crockery, cutlery and all you could possibly need for the perfect stay. Only two problematic issues to report on. Couldn’t seem to get the projector to work but then I am a bit of a technophobe. Parking is not for the light hearted! One space on an incredibly steep bank….but if they’re my only two gripes then I would truly recommend a stay at this beautiful cottage overlooking the Malvern Hills. The views are something to behold. Thoroughly recommended

"Thanks so much for a lovely stay, we had a brilliant time."
The log burner was a lovely bonus.
The views from the annex were gorgeous.
The kitchen looked like it had more basics that would be available for use such as oil etc. We were travelling by public transport from the north of England so there were some heavy extras to lug back from the supermarket after we arrived that evening in order to make dinner.
Not a lot of comfy chairs in the living for all seven people to hang out at the same time without having some on the floor.
Would definitely stay again, with the same group of people or maybe others! We loved it

"Five of us arrived by bike from Colwall station down the road and had a lovely week cycling around Herefordshire and Worcestershire."
This is a great spot with so many places to visit. There is a lovely view from the cottage/ annex too. A well kitted out kitchen meant we were able to cook for ourselves every night.

"Tor cottage has many lovely features but there are one or two downsides."
There were four of us staying and we all had our own space. The kitchen is well laid out but would be a bit busy with 7 people. Extra chairs or a bean bag in the lounge would also help. My elder daughter's friend popped in for a few meals and 5 were easily accommodated around the table. The parking was occasionally an issue and it is a steep walk up to the parking in front of the cafe. Our driver did not want to reverse in because there is a steep drop on one side of the access road. It is also about 90 paces from the house to the parking and one or two of the path slabs are uneven. I found what I assume was the boiler to be quite noisy in the room above the kitchen.
On the upside we enjoyed the views and the lovely sunsets. The house is fairly well equipped and was warm and comfortable. We were blessed with very good weather and only had one half day of rain. The house has a certain charm and perhaps faded glory. It is very quiet and peaceful but only a stone's throw away from walks, shops and Great Malvern. We walked to Malvern along the side of Beacon hill in about 25 minutes and to British camp in about 45 minutes. There are buses available if you only want to walk one way or you could use two cars. We loved the French windows that were perfect for our late summer weather.
I must say a very big thanks to the owner and his locum cleaner who rescued my younger daughter when she managed to lock the keys in the studio annex. Overall we had a very lovely stay and I would book this cottage again. There was loads to do and I wished we had been there for two weeks rather than one. We enjoyed the games but did not try the records or the projector. A radio would be a nice addition to the facilities but we brought our own with us. Excellent for those who treasure peace and quiet, lovely views, lovely walks but easy access to civilization. The Red Lion in Malvern did a very good Sunday Lunch and there are plenty of interesting shops and supermarkets to suit all tastes. Not quite perfect but quite close and well worth a visit. (4 stars)!

"Bright, open cottage – the three double french windows in the kitchen/diner were a great help in the hot weather."
The kitchen is pretty well equipped apart from the teapot, which pours half the tea over the worksurface or table and only half in the cup! The annexe is a spacious retreat, everything finished aesthetically in ply, with fantastic views though the huge sliding windows. The garden is delightfully ramshackle, unkempt and sloping, with a wild section across the stream, though the path here needs caution – the wooden steps are loose. If you have more than one car, it's quite a trek up to the recommended parking spot for the second car, especially with bags etc. The little road is very steep; be prepared!

"We found Tor Cottage to be beautiful, clean, well equipped, and we really enjoyed out stay."
The annexe is really lovely and private. The views are absolutely stunning, and there are lots of lovely walks and other places to visit in easy reach. There were one or two very minor problems, which didn't spoil our stay, and I made the housekeeper aware, who was very helpful. I agree with another reviewer, lock on bathroom, and a blind would be good. The only other two things to be aware of are that one of the double rooms has some sort of futon, rather than a proper double bed, which wasn't especially comfortable, and access. The parking place is down a very very steep, curved drive, with no turning space, so you either have to reverse in, or out, and my vehicle was too large to do this, and the walk up to parking at the top of the road is also extremely steep. And access to the cottage itself is down quite a long path - people just need to be aware that this is the case. I would love to visit again, it's a beautiful house in a beautiful part of the world

"We had an absolutely amazing time at your property for my dad’s 60th birthday!"
Everything was super clean, the house is gorgeous! The record player was a great addition too. We would definitely love to stay here again in the future.
The only improvements I’d say would be to add a blind and maybe a lock for the main bathroom for privacy and provide utensils for cooking on the BBQ. Other than that a fantastic stay!!

"Very disappointing."
The furnishings were uncomfortable, the wifi wasn't working, most of the crockery was chipped and the open plan layout meant that all the heat went upstairs. We had stayed at Tor Cottage 25 years ago when it had different owners and was with a different agency. It used to be very cosy and very well furnished and equipped. We knew from the photos online that things had changed and that wouldn't have been a problem if the changes had been for the better. The one thing that they couldn't change was the wonderful view and the sunsets, and the fact that it is a short (if very steep!) walk to the top of the Hills! Cafe Morso in Colwall does amazing breakfasts, The Cottage in the Wood does great lunches and The Wyche Inn is always good for a basic reasonably priced meal. We would add that the housekeeper was very helpful, but sadly this cottage is not up to the standard we would usually expect from Sykes.

"Overall we had an amazing stay at Tor Cottage."
The view is gorgeous and the house is lovely. We would definitely come again.
Our only feedback would be that the beds are a little hard to sleep on, and the internet was very hit and miss which made it difficult to use the projector.
Otherwise we loved it x
Thank you for your feedback.
Following your stay we have updated the mattresses at Tor Cottage and we hope that you have a comfortable time if you choose to book again.

"A beautiful house, with stunning views, ideally positioned for walks on the Malverns and to explore the surrounding area."
The garden is very steep, but fun to explore. The house is well equipped - the only thing to note is that there is no actual television, but a data projector (which would not connect to our Windows laptop, but would I suspect connect to an Apple). We had a lovely time, and can well imagine coming back there again.

"What a lovely place in a stunning setting and so close to the hills for daily walking on the ridge of the Malverns!"
The cottage is delightful - quirky and cute. We loved the record player and the projector screen. We made good use of the gas BBQ too! Facilities were good and we had a great week in a beautiful house.
The entrance to the cottage is hard to find, instructions don’t quite make it clear so it took us a bit of exploring in front of the wrong house before we spotted the path. There is no microwave (wasn’t a problem for us but might be for others) and one of the double beds is a futon with a not-very-comfy mattress.

"Cottage is an amazing find for the views - they are just stunning , the rooms are spacious and very querky, like stepping into someones home while they have nipped out, felt very homely though a few more comfy chairs needed if 5 of you staying."
I loved the lack of TV and flicker of the log fire and hoot of the owls at night , owner very generous with the logs! Great if you like time together with peace . hotels for lunch in colwall and British camp served great food and drink and ledbury and malvern easy to get to also , theres even a bus 675/676 nearby that is helpful for pub visits or walks. Dont think I will ever forget or exceed those views though.
