The Wild Atlantic Way runs close by too, offering spectacular driving routes and walking trails with sweeping ocean views.

For something more low-key, enjoy local walks through green fields and farmland, or take a picnic to the nearby estuary and watch the world go by.

A lively, colourful, thriving town, Clonakilty is home to a Blue Flag sandy beach, and is located close to the popular seaside resort of Inchydoney, where there is a surfing school available, perfect for a fun, family day out. With the West Cork Railway Village, leisure centre, cinema and an abundance of local beaches, Clonakilty is a great family destination, and is a town that knows how to please its visitors. Only 8 miles away lies the town of Rosscarbery, which dates back to the 6th century.
