"This house is magnificent, as you can see from the photos."
We really enjoyed returning home each evening and watching the sunset from the picture window in the smaller living room.
There were a few small items that could be addressed, such as a house booklet to explain what is where, how it works and what activities are nearby. The sofa in the 'formal' living room was not comfortable; after sinking right down into it, we spent the rest of our time in the other room, which was cosier. The house could also benefit from eg. rugs beside the beds, bins in the bathrooms/bedrooms.
Our main issue with this house is that it is NOT walkable to a beach. The main road has a 100-km speed limit and I made the mistake one evening of walking with the dog along the road - with no pathways. The drivers were aware and respective of our presence, but it was not a comfortable walk. I would suggest that you'd need a car to get anywhere, especially the nearest beach.
In say that, we did enjoy our time here and it was a great base for exploring Donegal.

"WOW!
From the moment our car turned into the drive and the views came into sight it literally took our breath away."
...no photos can prepare you for just how stunning the 180 degree views are......sunsets are just incredible too.
Then for the house itself, absolutely exceptional! We've stayed in some top notch holiday homes over the years but this one surpassed them all.
The attention to detail, the sheer size of the space, the amazing views from every window, the decor .... all first class.
Gortahork has all the basics you will need with Falcarragh just 5 mins up the road with its shops, bars, cafes etc.We especially liked The Strand Road Bar for food.
Do not miss the beach at Falcarragh either (Drumnatinny).....north of the town and down a single track road....it's over 4k long and spectacular when the Atlantic waves are crashing in.
Have to say that if this were my home I would never let anyone else near it ...in fact we were sorely tempted to just change the locks and claim squatters rights
Oh my god thank you for your comments that’s exactly how I felt when I first saw it so glad you enjoyed it.

"Beautiful house and STUNNING views."
Only downside, and it is probably a smallish one but inconvenient especially when you are on holidays, owners do not provide a house information pack on how things work within the home. Meaning we had to contact Sinead on a few occasions on how something worked. Easily rectified and hopefully it will be soon.
Cleanliness of house excellent, mattresses firm. Sufficient pots and pans, cutlery etc. Couple of tea towels, and bin cupboard for separating waste, only no identification on what goes into what bin.
Overall, we had a fabulous time and hope to return at some stage if we can.

"Leider fehlten bei den Toiletten die Toilettenbüsten."
Es tut uns leid, dass im Haus nicht genügend Toilettenbürsten vorhanden waren. Es gab eine im Hauptbadezimmer, aber es werden sicher noch mehr hinzukommen.
Ansonsten hoffen wir, dass Sie Ihren Aufenthalt genossen haben.

"Very spacious and clean house with great views."
Unfortunately we felt it was let down by lack of attention to detail. We mentioned a few things that were missing on day one to the housekeeper and these were supplied the very next day - which was very welcomed. However, there were still quite a few other things missing from the property which we would normally expect. We did leave a list of things for the housekeeper/owner to consider and hopefully they will be introduced.

"Amazing house for a short family vacation!"
It felt like home, and the host made sure everything is in place for our comfort. Very close distance to shops, although for bigger ones Letterkenny is the closest town. The house is very warm, no need for extra blankets. The few remarks I would have that the double bed in the small room is too small for 2 people’s comfortable sleep and that the duvets were heavy and too warm. Also, the internet is quite weak, even near the source. For 2 people working at the same time it was a bit of a struggle. But we had very good mobile coverage which helped. And the last remark is that the host asked to put out the bin for collection on the scheduled time - this was a bit of surprise for us since we haven’t had a similar situation. We were also asked to put our towels to wash before leaving - again, nothing similar happened to us before. Maybe this is a normal practice somewhere, but it wasn’t mentioned in the ad. Other than above mentioned, we enjoined our stay!

"Absolutely stunning house We stayed over Christmas and from moment we arrived were amazed at the house, from the outside to house itself was spotless."
The size off this house took us while to get used too (you could do your morning jog up the hallway) this house has everything you need to enjoy your stay all really good appliances. The views over looking bay you would never get bored off.The area where house is situated is prefect quite location but yet only two minutes drive to good local shop and beaches.. would definitely stay again (only small issue kitchen could do with clock partner nearly burnt christmas dinner only joking) phil and Andrea

"Property was as described and more, finished to a high standard with everything you would need."
Private location with great views. Gortahork a short walk away with a eurospar which covered any groceries required and pub with friendly staff and locals that made you feel welcome. No shortage of beautiful beaches in the area for taking the dog for walks. Look forward to getting back here again.

"A very enjoyable weeks stay in this wonderful property and location."
The views from the property of the bay are stunning and the location is very peaceful. The property is spacious, very clean and well equipped. We used the Eurospar mini-market in the village and Kerr’s family butchers in Falcarragh, for provisions, both excellent. The location is great for visiting Tory Island (a must), Bloody Head, and the beach at Finlays Bar, north of Falcarragh. A few minor points/comments were passed on separately to the owner. To conclude: brilliant property and location.

"The images of the property show the property closer to the water than in reality."
It's a little misleading. The property was very clean and is in an outstanding location.
However, a number of factors meant our stay was not as we would have expected.
First, how the property is maintained. The plumbing is very loud and, at random times, comes on across the property. This wakes up everyone in the house.
Second, the heating is loud. The radiators make very loud banging noises unless turned off. The owner blames user error. However, their solutions did not work.
Finally, the Internet. In this day and age, reliable Internet across a whole house is a must. However, the router and Internet in this property restrict the Internet to one room. When we first came, even this was very, very slow. The owner then changed the Internet plan to unlimited. But this still did not give the Internet to the rest of the property. Our teenagers who are reliant on the Internet in a private space were not thrilled with the lack of Internet. Not restful.
All in all, let down by some major oversights by the owner.
So sorry you felt the holiday was not restful and the house was not up to your expectations. We did however try to correct the issues that you had.

"We recently stayed at the property in Upper Killult."
We cannot fault anything, the house was spotlessly clean, comfortable and pet friendly. The quiet location and views are incredible, with village a short drive or walk away. My husband left some items of clothing behind and Sinead kindly sent these on promptly - thank you! We will definitely book again.

"A fantastic house with the most beautiful views."
This is probably the best Self Catering cottage we have ever stayed in! We were a party of six adults and there was plenty of space for everyone. With two seating areas and a lovely round dining table, spacious kitchen and seating outside, we were spoilt for choice. There are lots of gorgeous sandy beaches to explore and Glenveagh National Park is about a half an hour drive away and well worth a visit. Communication with both the owner and keyholder was very easy with prompt responses from both. I would thoroughly recommend staying here and we shall be back!
Thank you Sam so glad enjoyed it look forward to your return visit

"Absolutely beautiful home in an idyllic location."
The best holiday home we have ever stayed in. If it wasn't for the beautiful beaches waiting to be explored we could have easily just sat looking at the view all day long. The house, the location and Donegal exceeded our expectations and we will be booking again. It's impossible to put into words just how amazing this place is!

"We had a truly wonderful stay at this amazing property."
Everything was outstanding! Spotlessly clean and fabulous facilities making it feel like a home from home - tea bags, coffee, dishwasher tablets etc meant that we were able to arrive and settle quickly. The views are stunning - making it difficult to get anything done! Location is also great - close the town where there are some wonderful restaurants and cafes and cosy pubs. Communication was superb. I honestly have no criticism except that the pictures on the listing do not do it justice!! I contemplated never leaving but instead began to plan out next trip on the journey home. We loved it! Thanks so much for a lovely week. x

The house was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. The welcome was furthered with the small essentials; tea/coffee, dishwasher tabs, washing powder in good supply. The views from the house are beautiful and lovely to watch no matter the weather. Great communication from both owner and housekeeper when necessary. Would highly recommend.
