  • "Good directions to locate the property."

    A very warm welcome from Martina, Denis & Ronan. The property is very new. We really couldn't fault it. It was warm, with heating easy to control. All we needed was there, but our hosts made it clear they were on hand should we need anything. Lovely location, not far from the coast or the town of Donegal. A lovely evening of traditional music in The Reel Inn. Mc Caffertys bar good for watching sport on tv. We were able to tour the coast and enjoy the amazing scenery. Many thanks and would love to return in the future.

  • "Coastal Hideaway has been without doubt the best self catering experience ever."

    From the moment we arrived our hosts were on hand to lend advice with regards to where to eat, best beaches and local activities. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation is exceptionally clean, modern and spacious. It's location is ideally situated for visits along the coast or to towns like Donegal, Ardara and Killybegs all of which are close by. This was truly a dream holiday which we will definitely be doing again. Thank you Martina & Denis and the family.

  • "What a wonderful and welcoming cottage with every facility you could need for a perfect retreat for a couple."

    Close by are shops, pubs and a cafe and only minutes from the larger town of Donegal where you can find restaurants and larger shops. All in all a real gem of a place hosted by the most charming and friendly people.

  • "The coastal hideaway is as perfect a destination as one can get to experience a beautiful part of Ireland."

    The hosts, Martina and Denis and family are wonderful, welcoming, knowledgable and respectful. The holiday let is truly a home from home and exceptionally furnished and decorated with all the amenities you need and more. It is situated in a quiet area with lot of beautiful beaches and places to see within easy reach, and a cosy home to come back to and put your feet up. Don’t second guess booking the coastal hideaway, do it, you will not regret it and be all the better for having such a wonderful place to experience everything Donegal and the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer.

  • "An extremely spacious and comfortable accommodation in an excellent location close to Donegal."

    The owners were happy to help with any questions that we had and to advise attractions and restaurants etc to visit. One of us would have preferred there to be more documentation available as a welcome pack viz. the above mentioned items plus information about the TV remote control, heating units, local emergency help (doctors, dentists etc) like we have seen in other lets. This is a new venture for the owners and they were very helpful.

  • "This cottage is a 5* gem."

    Smart, Spacious and Spotless it is a wonderful place to stay. Inside it is warm, very thoughtfully designed, generously equipped with quality furnishings and ample storage, all to a high standard. The owners, Martina and Denis, are welcoming and helpful, but never intrusive. Set along a quiet lane just outside the pleasant village of Mountcharles we found this an excellent base from which to access the seemingly endless cliffs, bays, beaches, islands and mountain landscapes of this delightful area. With the good road network leading to quiet country lanes we explored from Fanad lighthouse in the north, down through Maghery, picturesque Portnoo, the spectacular Sliabh Laig, the inland beauty of Glenveagh National Park and much more. The perfect base to build fond memories. Thank you.

    ..Coastal Hideaway is just a wee hidden gem. So well decorated and so comfortable. I would highly recommend it to everyone. The pretty village of Mountcharles in County Donegal stands in an elevated position, overlooking Donegal Bay. An area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Donegal Bay is home to beautiful scenery and wonderful events, and with views of the majestic Bluestack Mountains, it is the perfect location for enjoying walks and a spot of birdwatching. With great surfing in the bay, and sea angling on offer, as well as historic Donegal Castle to visit, there is no shortage of things to do. Close by, Rossnowlagh, 'The Heavenly Cove', is known as the most scenic and dramatic beach in the North West, and boasts fantastic water sports, and breathtaking views of the rugged coastline and Donegal Bay.
