  • "This is our 2nd visit to gun cottage, we go away as an extended family with pets and this is an ideal house not to far to drive to attractions and walks."

    With the family getti g bigger it's hard to find somewhere that doesn't break the bank and this is perfect. My grandkids had a ball and didn't want to return home

  • "Beautiful house in a beautiful location."

    Very warm with excellent plumbing for showers and toilets. Beds v comfortable. Lots of space throughout and generally nice and clean . Games room really useful and house well situated. Appreciated the provision of handsome, foil, wash up liquid...really appreciated the washing machine and tumble drier and clothes horse. TV reception good. WiFi good Deduced a star because of the following ... No milk left upon arrival...after a long journey would be nice to be able to have a cup of tea without having to find and travel to a shop. Most places provide tea coffee and milk in our experience No portable outdoor seating to make the most of the lovely views Windows need a clean.so the viees can be fully appreciated Sofas are losing their cushioning and would benefit from more filling ..good otherwise. Silicone in showers going mouldy needing replacement and dining chair seats needed a good wash. This sounds like a long list but honestly it's such a beautiful house..just needs a little TLC .

  • "There was a child's stair gate, which we could not remove, which as the average age was 80, we found it difficult to safely get through The showers need better cleaning & the mastic needs redoing."

    The size of the table in the property was too small for the number of guests the property could accommodate If the TV was not turned off at the wall, it would come on again after being turned off. Was the TV safe?

  • "Overall, the property was good plenty of space, kitchen equipment was good having two fridges was handy."

    But however overall tension to detail on changeover was poor. Lots of Opened food left in cupboard and freezer, dried out coffee and dirty sugar left in containers, out of date food and open jam with mould in is just a example. Cafeteria has not been washed. Sweet wrapper and rubbish left in fire bucket and rubbish under sofa, not be moved and cleaned, 2 dining room chairs broken & footstool broken we had to mend, pool table pockets all broken, skirting boards dirty stairs haven’t been hoovered, cleaning cupboards was overflowing and needed a sort out. need a general better clean, cottage was advertised with a barbecue there wasn’t one!! outside seating was poor. Better instructions on hot water would have been the benefit as constantly ran out of hot water for six people to shower.

  • "What a lovely home from home in the beautiful Fermanagh countryside."

    We loved our stay and enjoyed all the comforts of Gunn Cottage. Immaculate with everything you could need and more. (The pool table was brilliant for my son). When we left behind lots of bits by mistake Mrs Gunn arranged for the wonderful Doreen to package everything up and sent back to me promptly. A great experience, and we definitely hope to come back again!

    Within easy reach of all amenities. We were very lucky weather wise , as we never saw any rain for the time we were there . The temp. Was very kind as well . Between 18 and 22 .

  • "I booked this house after my other one in co down was cancelled on us ,how lucky we were as this house was perfect ."

    This house is so well equipped and very spacious .We had 3 small children with us and the stairgates the owner put up were a lifesaver .The garden was great for our 2 dogs..

  • "My family and I really enjoyed our week in your beautiful home along with our 2 mini Schnauzer dogs."

    The house has all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. The house is in an idyllic setting within walking distance to the Knockninny Manor House Hotel and Marina. Close to Florence Court, The Marble Arch Caves and The Boardwalk (Stairway to Heaven.) Enniskillen is a 20 minute drive away and there are countless other picturesque areas to visit including the nearby Republic of Ireland. Only negative is the fencing around the property could be more secure for young children and dogs. Also you have to put the emergion heater on to use the shower's upstairs which is a bit of a pain particularly if you have a large family staying. I would throughly recommend Gunn Cottage to family and friends.

The property

Gunn's Cottage enjoys amazing uninterrupted views of the beautiful surrounding countryside of County Fermanagh and Upper Lough Erne.

The house is ideal for a large family of up to 10 or for smaller groups, looking for a relaxing memorable break.

Benefitting from two sitting rooms, one of which is in the conservatory along with a pool table, the other has large television and sofas set around the woodburning stove.

A short walk down the road, will take you to Knockninny Key, next to Knockninny Hotel the perfect place to have a meal or drink overlooking the lough.

An ideal spot for a bit of fishing, to go exploring the 'Lough Erne Canoe Trail' or hiring a boat, just right to explore the many islands of Upper Lough Erne.

There are many National Trust properties close by, as well as the famous Marble Arch Caves with in the Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark.

The kids will love the underground river boat ride; definitely worth a visit.

The Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trial (nicknamed the Stairway to Heaven) is also close by with its spectacular views, meandering through one of the largest expanses of blanket bog in Northern Ireland.

For the younger ones, a trip to Ticket Moo to watch the cows being milked and taste the many flavours of their gorgeous homemade ice cream is not to be missed either.

Further afield, but easily doable (2hrs by car in either direction) is Dublin in the south and Belfast in the north, with all their many famous attractions.

For a adventure filled visit to Northern Ireland, Gunn's Cottage is an ideal choice.
