The property

Long Jack’s sits quietly in the village of Ballygarrett, a welcoming one‑bedroom cottage that feels made for slowing down and savouring County Wexford’s coastline.

Whether you’re travelling as a couple or with a close friend, this is a place that invites unhurried mornings, salty sea air and evenings spent warming your toes by the fire.

Inside, the open‑plan living space brings everything together with ease.

The kitchen is well set up for home cooking, whether that’s a simple breakfast before heading out or a supper made with local produce.

A dining table sits ready for shared meals and lingering conversations, while the sofa and woodburning stove create a lovely spot to settle in after a day outdoors.

The double bedroom is bright and restful, offering good storage and a peaceful night’s sleep, and the bathroom includes a bath with an electric shower, perfect for rinsing away sand and sea spray or easing tired muscles at the end of the day.

Step outside and you’ll find the same unhurried atmosphere, joined by the gentle presence of two resident pet pigs, Jack and Daniel, who potter contentedly in their own securely fenced area and bring a charming sense of character to the surroundings.

The surrounding area is wonderfully quiet, and with Harmony Lodge right next door, there’s the tempting option of spa‑style treatments during your stay, from soothing massages and facials to Reiki sessions that add an extra layer of indulgence to your time away.

Ballygarrett itself is a friendly village, well placed for exploring this stretch of Wexford’s coast.

The Cahore cliff walk is a particular highlight, offering dramatic views across the sea and a bracing walk that showcases the area at its best, while nearby sandy beaches provide space for long strolls and fresh air.

Down on Cahore’s shoreline, you can also enjoy a beachside sauna experience, with the owner able to provide a beach bag and towels so you can make the most of it.

A visit to The Strand pub rounds out the experience nicely, where traditional Irish hospitality and good food await.

Further along the coast, Courtown and Riverchapel offer a lively seaside feel, with Courtown Beach, the fascinating work of Seal Rescue Ireland, and a choice of cafés and restaurants to enjoy.

A day trip to Wexford town opens up even more to discover, from the immersive Irish National Heritage Park to performances at the Wexford Opera House and browsing independent shops in the town centre.

Long Jack’s offers a gentle, well‑placed base for experiencing the coastal charm, culture and warmth of County Wexford, at a pace that feels entirely your own.
