  • "Studio cottage is a stylish holiday rental."

The rooms are a good size with high quality equipment. It is a perfect base for exploring the nearby countryside and towns. The bottle of prosecco was a thoughtful gesture however a pint of milk might have been more welcome after a long drive. Our first concern was the lack of instruction manuals for the high end equipment. We spent quite a lot of time trying to figure out how to use the television, cooker and hot water system. A folder of information would have been appreciated. In addition, we were unsure of which dustbins to use as there are multiple properties at the farm and a range of recycling options. Some of the attention to detail was lacking. For example, the overhead light in the living room had no bulb, there were no sharp knives or chopping boards in the kitchen and no washing up liquid. In the bathroom the shower curtain was far too long and presented a slip hazard in the bath when showering. Due to the ceiling height the shower is tricky to use by anyone over 5 foot 6 inches. However the most obvious omission was the lack of blinds or curtains on any of the windows. This was a particular problem in the master bedroom where we were awoken at dawn each morning. It was lovely to be able to bring our dog to the cottage however we were unable to let her out directly from the front door as it opened onto the shared drive. The exercise field was at the top of the driveway by the main road and the outside space shown in some photos belongs to other properties. This rental has great potential to be an outstanding place to stay, however to achieve this some adjustments should be made.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. We are pleased that you found Studio Cottage stylish, well equipped and a good base for exploring the surrounding countryside and towns. We are sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet expectations. A pint of milk is normally left for every arrival alongside the welcome bottle, so we will raise this with our changeover team. There should also have been a chopping board, kitchen knives and washing-up liquid available, and we will check why these were not present or easily located during your stay. The cottage has two Smart TVs, although we appreciate that unfamiliar equipment can be difficult to operate without clear instructions. We agree that a comprehensive guest information folder covering the televisions, cooker, hot-water system, bins and recycling would be helpful, and we will address this. We will also investigate the missing light bulb and review the length of the shower curtain. We recognise the comments regarding the bedroom windows and will consider how the window coverings can be improved. We would, however, like to clarify the comments concerning the outside space. The field shown in our photographs, along with the surrounding land, belongs to us and is available for our cottage guests to enjoy responsibly. It does not belong to neighbouring properties. As Studio Cottage is situated within a working farm setting, the front door opens toward a shared drive, and dogs should therefore be supervised or kept on a lead in that immediate area. We genuinely appreciate constructive feedback, particularly as Studio Cottage is a relatively new holiday rental. Your comments will help us identify where clearer information and closer changeover checks can improve the experience for future guests. Thanks Julie & Tony Property Owner

The feel of the cottage was lovely; we really felt at home and relaxed. The beds were so comfy we really had the best sleep. We will definitely return to your beautiful cottage. And thank you so much for flowers, wine and gift card you left for us for being your first guests. We really appreciated it. And Thank you for the bread, milk and butter.
