  • "The downstairs shower was was difficult to find a balance between scalding and cold so might need looking at."

    Not having a toothbrush charger in bathrooms means you could supply a plug in adaptor to be used as an alternative or advise guests in advance. Otherwise totally brilliant. Hope we did ok too.

The property

Number Sixteen is a wonderful, Edwardian terraced cottage nestled near the beach in Babbacombe, Devon.

You'll find the picturesque cottage down a quiet street with a pretty tiled pathway leading you to the front door of your home-away-from-home.

Guests are welcome to park up in front of the property to unload bags, before parking in a nearby public car park.

The long, spacious hallway is ideal for leaving boots, prams and bags before getting settled in; great care has been taken into creating inviting, attractive living spaces throughout Number Sixteen, with a mixture of contemporary touches and quirky, classic furnishings.

Sink into the corner sofa in the charming sitting/dining room to catch up on your favourite shows on the Sky TV, or start the woodburning stove for added comfort whilst the little ones play games before dinner.

Set the rustic dining table under the Velux window bringing in plenty of natural light, to plan the day's adventures over a hearty breakfast.

Pastel coloured tiles and warm wooden countertops offer a peaceful setting to prepare home-cooked meals or picnics for the beach, equipped with a gas oven and hob, fridge/freezer and ample storage space.

The cottage places you within easy reach of Babbacombe's curious independents, with plenty of pubs, shops, restaurants and cafés to try.

A quieter alternative, the village offers all the attractions without the crowds, such as Babbacombe Theatre, the superb Model Village and picturesque promenade overlooking the sea.

Embark on an adventurous day of walking along the picturesque South West Coast Path, spanning over 630 miles of imposing landscapes, seafronts and over to attractions such as Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, Splashdown Quaywest waterpark, and Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves, as well as the stunning Dartmoor National Park further afield with the Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boat Company.
