"A lovely property set in a quiet estate position."
Very, very clean and tidy. Everything you could want and expect to complete your stay was provided, and things were explained clearly with signage where appropriate, and within the property's folder etc. Even the Broadband service was excellent!
We will definitely be recommending the property to our friends. Thank you!

"Perfect house, clean and well equipped."
The best house we have ever rented. So much to do in the area within a few minutes drive. Westward Ho! beach has everything you could wish for, sands, rock pools, lido. Lots of activities in the area for all ages. Crab fishing at Appledore and Bideford was popular with our grandson. Just wish it wasn't so far from where we live it or we would be back regularly.

"We really enjoyed staying at Woodside."
As others have mentioned it is very clean, although there was a rubber duck in the bath that was full of mouldy water! The house is full of little nick nacks (wooden boats, flowers in vases etc.) which is so lovely but is a bit of a problem when you have a 2 year old! I promptly had to gather everything up and hide it to avoid breakages. As others have mentioned it would be nice if there were blackout curtains, or at least thicker ones as the rooms are so light! Also, during our stay there was, what can only be described as a concert, with super loud music and people shouting. This, along with the heat and very strong manure smell (unusually strong!) it did put a damper on our Saturday night! That being said, I wish more places were this clean and well equipped. Despite all the little things we had a lovely time and I would definitely recommend!
Thank you for your review of Woodside, we are so pleased you found our holiday home clean and tidy and that you would recommend it. Unfortunately we were unaware of the problem with the rubber duck ornament in the bathroom and will of course remove it. We want all our guests to feel welcome and comfortable during their stay and believe a few decorative ornaments add to Woodside's home from home atmosphere and so apologise that these may have caused any problems. The area is surrounded by beautiful countryside and we can only presume the manure smell came from a farm and the distant music may have been from Devon's family attraction The Big Sheep - we have not been made aware of these issues before and are very sorry if they affected your stay in any way. "Woodside Bideford is by far the best self catering house / cottage, we have stayed in, it certainly exceeded our expectations."
It was spotlessly clean, a lovely welcome pack for our arrival was provided . There was nothing the owners had not thought of,. it was home from home. Some earlier comments had mentioned about the property being on a housing estate, we found this to be no problem in fact we found it to be very quiet and very nice. We hope to be back in the future if we can ? it does seem well booked up for some time to come.

"We did not realise that the house was in a middle of a housing estate, with no local shop which you could pop to ,eg for milk."
You deffinately needed a car. We did feel that the covid requirements were met.
Thank you so much for staying at Woodside, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. The property is advertised as being located in a residential area, and the shop is advertised as being around 1.2 miles from the property. We are sorry if you had missed this information. We are glad you found the property clean as we do our utmost to ensure this during these difficult times. Property Owner

"What a wonderful, well-equipped, spotless, modern and beautifully decorated property."
We can thoroughly recommend it. It was spotlessly clean and we felt like we had walked into a brand new home. It offered everything we look for in a holiday property, and more...Fantastic kitchen, modern ensuite and bathroom with plenty of hot water and powerful showers. Spacious bedrooms and a cosy lounge. Paul and Liz have thought of everything and the Welcome Pack of chocolates, biscuits, fudge, orange juice and milk was a lovely and much-appreciated touch. Plenty of tea towels, washing liquid, sponges and cloths and dishwasher tabs so you don't have to bring your own too. Communication with Paul and Liz was excellent and they did everything they could to make us feel welcome and to ensure we had a wonderful stay.
The property is the perfect base for exploring Bideford, Bude, Clovelly, Woollacombe, the Tarka Trail. Our favourite outings included a trip to Clovelly where we went mackeral fishing and had to stop fishing after 10-15 minutes as we had a bucketful to bake for our tea. If we had taken fishing nets, we could have caught buckets ful of whitebait too. We recommend hiring bikes in Torrington and going along the beautiful Tarka trail to Bideford and beyond....We went to Barnstable and bac (32 miles) along the coast. Simply beautiful. Safe for kids too as you are on tracks rather than roads.
We also thoroughly recommend going to the Westleigh Inn in Bideford. Lovely views out to see, a spacious beer garden and play area and fabulous food!
We would thoroughly recommend staying at Paul and Liz's beautiful holiday home. You won't be disappointed.

"Woodside lived up to its promise and we all enjoyed our week in North Devon."
The house is in tip top condition, very comfortable and has everything needed for a relaxing holiday for all ages (the owners have truly thought of everything). We could walk into Bideford easily from the house and especially loved the Pannier Market. We hired bikes and explored the Tarka trail refuelling in the excellent John's Deli in Instow and cycling nearly to Torrington in the other direction, a great way to see the beautiful countryside. We managed to see a great deal of Devon and Cornwall visiting Westward Ho! Appledore, Tintagel, Bude, Brixham and Torquay as well whilst catching up with friends and family! We all agreed that Woodside offered great value for money as it really felt like a lovely home from home. The weather was great too and so all in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Already planning for next year!

"Yes,the property was very modern and well presented, comfortable and clean but as two adults my son and I felt it was geared towards a family as there are plenty of toys and dvds for children but nothing for grownups!"
Perhaps this should be made clear in the information.
We are always delighted when guests choose Woodside for their holiday in North Devon and we welcome and take seriously all guest feedback regarding their stay. Whilst we do offer a small assortment of toys and dvds for young children, as well as a range of board games, we will certainly look at adding a couple more board games and a selection of dvds for grown ups too.
