  • "My sister and I spent a wonderful week in Salters."

Very quiet in the middle of the countryside on a lovely farm. Comfortable beds, well equiped kitchen and enclosed garden to rear and enclosed patio to front for our 2 little dogs. The local pub the Black Dog just a short distance away serving lovely food. We enjoyed Tiverton and the canal walks, also walks around the farm fields. All in all a wonderful restful time. We will return.

Quiet, tranquil, unspoilt and beautiful (and what the owners are doing to protect the countryside, while running a working farm, can only be applauded!)

The only disappointment was the oven which was really too small to cater for 4 people.

  • "The cottage was an absolute dream to stay in, it was so nice to get off of the roundabout of city life and experience total peace and quiet and not a street light in sight or the sound of any cars."

Although we didn’t see them very often the owners were helpful if you needed them. The cottage was very well equipped and tea coffee etc was provided. Tea towels washing up liquid and cloths were also provided there was also good quality towels supplied. Basic condiments were on hand to use salt pepper vinegar etc although I’m not sure if the owners supplied them or they were left by other visitors to the cottage. There was no tv in the cottage which we was not too bothered about but it would of been nice to have the choice. There is no local shops i think the nearest one was about 6 miles away so if you intend to cook make sure you come armed with your supplies. Our dog loved the freedom of the walks and running about in the fields which the owners are happy for you to explore. We would definitely return to salters again.

The setting is breathtaking and the surrounding area idyllic. Henrietta, the owner was so friendly and accommodating and we were greeted regularly by her two very friendly dogs. The location of Salter's was perfect for us and with a fabulous pub The Black Dog only minutes away in the car, we couldn't have asked for more. We would definitely recommend the food at The Black Dog and proprietors were very welcoming too. We would definitely go back!
