  • "Great location within walking distance of Brixham town."

Impeccably clean. Well equipped with everything one could hope for. All in all, a faultless property. Full marks to the owners. Would certainly look to staying there again.

  • "Overall stay was good clean and tidy, outside could have been better the veranda should have in blocked off with a gate so the neighbours dogs don't come in tripping the lights all night and fouling by the front door and also when we sit outside on a nice night we could keep our dogs out with us without Worrying about them wondering off other wise a good stay."

We are glad your stay was overall good and we welcome your feedback. It does state in our property description that the patio area is not enclosed. We are very puzzled to whose Dogs were wandering onto our patio area during the night, as none of our neighbours own a Dog? Property Owner

  • "Great location, close to town, harbour and coastal path."

Clean property with a nice welcoming bottle of wine and doggy treats. Photo of courtyard and description slightly misleading as it is very small and shared with neighbours, had to walk dog whenever he needed the toilet. This was an inconvenience at times with a 9 month old baby, not having somewhere secure to let the dog have a wee. However our dog seemed to enjoy all the extra walks.

  • "This is the 2nd time we have stayed here in this cottage with our dogs."

It is nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The house is under a 10 min slow walk to the harbour. It is a great location for a break.

  • "We had a lovely week here!"

The house was a perfect base to explore South Devon and we really enjoyed Brixham! It was only a short wander down to the harbour if we wanted to eat out or needed to grab something from the Tesco or Co-op. Thoroughly recommend a walk down to the harbour at sunset! We didn’t find parking an issue because we only have a small car, but if you have a bigger car I imagine it’s a lot easier if you pull in and then reverse through the arch. The beds were really comfortable and we had everything we needed. We might return for another holiday in the future!!

  • "The cottage was a fantastic base for exploring Brixham in covid times, not least because of the fact it is at sea level!"

The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the milk, wine and juice was an unexpected treat. Our only issue is that we missed some of the utensils and equipment that may have been there pre-covid but that is by no means a criticism given the circumstances. Thank you to the owners for allowing my little family to spend a wondrous half term in Brixham. It was just what we needed.

  • "Difficult to get it right because of the pandemic but the items in the kitchen were too sparse."

Egg cups, spatulas and maybe a sandwich toaster would of been nice as we ate in the cottage all week. However apart from these minor details the cottage was perfect and I would highly recommend it. The parking was not an issue as the local bus service and taxis served well enough to leave the car at home.

  • "We booked it as a dog friendly cottage, at the last minute we decided not to take our dog and we are glad we didn't."

The first thing you are greeted with is a no dogs allowed on a stairgate to the upstairs which is not dog friendly. Then the rules was no dog fouling on patio but there was nowhere for them to go without taking them in the car. It was a lovely place to stay without a dog, shouldn't be advertised as dog friendly.

  • "We do not think this cottage is Dog friendly as no grass available in the immediate area, also the access re parking is extremely difficult, even when there are no other vehicles parked."

We found the whole Cottage very restrictive in terms of space, and therefore we do not consider we had value for money.

  • "4 Old Mill Cottage is a little gem, with its charming terrace, it’s central location."

.Brixham town centre, harbour and facilities a short walk away! The cottage itself was full of charm, Uber clean, full of character, had everything you needed and some, a real ‘home from home’ and an absolute credit to its owners Alison and Russell. There was a wonderful welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and biccies for us and one of treats for Ted our dog. Would highly recommend! We had no issues at all with the parking and manoeuvred in and out with no problems even with, on occasion, a full car park. My hubby’s a stresshead when it comes to parking, so if he can do it anyone can! Can’t rate this little gem enough!

Cleaner arrived around 9.20 and entered without knocking. Did say on your still here sorry I come back at 10. Could hear water running out back thought maybe a problem with drain pipe maybe needs looking into.

  • "I was disappointed by the miserable neighbour, on Wednesday morning he was going through the recycling bins for the property, I went out to thank him and to tell him I would do it later because the bins are emptied on Thursday."

He moaned about the recycling that had been done by the previous occupants, he continued moaning and telling me I needed to do the bins asap, it was a very unpleasant thing to have to experience on my holiday.

  • "Lovely modern cottage, very well equipped and comfortable."

Situated off the main road, just a short walk to the shops and harbour. The offroad parking is a definite bonus - we only used the car on 3 days. We were lucky with the parking as the adjoining house was vacant so had room to maneuver the car to enable us to drive out onto the main road. Nice little welcoming extras left in the cottage - milk, tea etc. Would definitely recommend and would return when holidaying in Brixham again.

It has its own parking space which is a bonus even if it is quite tight. However we found the bus service was excellent and did not need to use the car all week. The mattress was however very soft and gave us backache. The bedding was old and very pilled in contrast to the rest of the facilities. What should be made clear is that there is virtually no mobile signal and the internet connection is very slow.

Little touches tea coffee sugar, Milk on arrival and treats for the dog too. Says stairways are steep however feel they are fine and if in doubt there is a stair handle rail. Great location. Just a pleasent walk to the harbour via shops with lots of eaterys around. And short journeys by car to nearby places. Towels are included which is great however only flannel. Hand and large sheet size. Could have done with the size down from sheet as a bath towel is big enough for some. Overall a pleasent stay in brixham

About the location

Dartmouth 5 miles; Paignton 6 miles; Torquay 8 miles.

Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.
