  • "A lovely clean, well-appointed apartment with outside space and fabulous views."

A generous welcome pack of goodies was much appreciated and the management company dealt with a minor maintenance issue promptly. In a town like Lyme Regis with narrow roads, it was good to have generous, secure parking.

  • "8 Buckfields is a great place to stay, a good base with good facilities, and in an accessible part of Lyme."

We have stayed here many times over the last 10-12 years or so and have never been disappointed. It was frustrating the price was jacked up significantly this year, but we’ve noticed there are many properties still available to rent in July and August, so this is possibly symptomatic of the public voting with their feet. Good to see next year the price is back to where it should be. Something we’ve never had to do is call for help - one of the loos stopped working - but this was fixed the same day. Small moan above, but all in all we do love no’ 8 Buckfields.

  • "Very nice well equipped apartment with lovely patio area which catches the morning sun and is great for a leisurely breakfast."

Car parking within a secure gated community is a plus as is the pedestrian gate in the garden for shortcut access into town. The close proximity to Lyme Bay Holidays’ office means the property is found easily and quickly once keys are collected. The development was peacefully quiet whilst we were there, but good walking legs are required to get back up the hill after visiting the beach, shops, or the lovely restaurants in Lyme Regis. All in all, a lovely base from which to explore a lovely part of Dorset and East Devon

  • "A) It would have been nice if the office was shown as Sykes and not Lyme Bay holidays."

We spent quite a time before we located the building. b ) We could find no instructions for the TV. We could not locate freeserve programmes, which was an irritation. Other than that, we were delighted with the holiday premises.

We're sorry to hear that you had a problem locating our office. We are a local brand, part of Sykes Holiday Cottages Ltd. We will review our travel directions for guests to ensure it is clear to look for our office when collecting keys. We hope you enjoyed your stay. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

Thank you for the welcome pack. Very clean, natural light and warm. Everything we could possibly have wanted was there.

  • "We enjoyed our stay, even though the weather wasn't very kind to us."

The flat was clean, comfortable, and in a very good location. The only (minor) downsides were:- 1) The heating seems to have a mind of its own. 2) There were no black bags to take the rubbish to the bin collection area, and the "biodegradable" bin liners provided were worse than useless - they fell apart at the slightest touch.

  • "A wonderful stay in a lovely apartment."

In a great position to enjoy Lyme. Our only criticism would be the heating element. When we arrived it was nearly 23 degrees which was far too hot for a baby. We ended up switching off the wall heaters that had controls on them and having several windows open to cool it down. Heaters in lounge area didn’t have controls and seemed to be hot 24/7.

  • "We had a lovely time at Buckfields."

The position is perfect for being close to the town centre and seafront as well as being far enough away to be peaceful. We had another couple stay with us for a few nights and they were able to use a visitor parking space which was great. The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely fitted out and the living space is comfortable with a lovely sea view. Lyme Regis is great for pubs and restaurants and we spent more than a few hours in the Royal Standard near the Cobb. As a keen birdwatcher we were able to visit Seaton Wetlands twice and enjoyed many sightings of interesting birds. Looking forward to returning to Buckfields in the not too distant future.

  • "We have spent several holidays at 8 Buckfields over the last few years enjoying the light, modern accommodation and pretty terrace set in gardens overlooking Lyme Bay."

The easy to access private parking is a bonus in Lyme and makes visits to the super restaurants and town centre stress free. The living area is most comfortable as are the bedrooms. The bath and shower rooms offer good water pressure. The kitchen is well thought out with everything you need to make catering easy and an opportunity to take advantage of all the local produce available nearby. Wifi is excellent throughout the property.

  • "The property is exceptional!"

10 out of 10. It is extremely well equipped and beautifully furnished. It has great secure private parking but the view was the icing on the cake! The location is fab! Great walks! Close to the beach and wonderful restaurants. You will not be disappointed. We'll definitely be back!!

  • "Lovely comfortable well equipped apartment but couple of little niggles - the wardrobe doors in the twin bed bedroom are badly fitted and difficult to open as they catch on the drawer underneath."

Also, the broken light in the garden is a bad trip hazard - I tripped over it when leaving the garden by the French doors and fell over and grazed my leg - could have been nasty. Only minor things but should be addressed

  • "Good property for our stay in Lyme Regis."

As I have limited mobility being on the ground floor with outside access to a nice patio sitting area with a seaview was ideal. Flat was clean and comfortable with welcome pack appreciated. One small problem of the bathroom radiator becoming loose from the wall was dealt with swiftly and efficiently by Lyme Bay Holidays.

  • "Whilst the apartment was excellent in most respects, the WiFi was poor in quality leading to difficulties in using the ‘smart’ television’s additional channels (reception frequently failed, making it extremely difficult to view a film or series episode)."

There were no instruction leaflets for some of the equipment either, including the TV.
