Colyton itself is a town steeped in history dating back to 700 AD, with narrow streets and many old buildings with features of a bygone age. The town boasts a wonderful selection of traditional shops, an award-winning butchers and traditional bakery, alongside galleries, welcoming pubs, artisan eateries, and tea rooms. Take a tram ride alongside the River Axe to the seaside town of Seaton with its mile long beach, popular for water sports. For nature lovers, explore the beautiful marshlands and reed beds with over 4km of level trails and boardwalks and home to an abundance of wildlife. A short car journey will take you to the picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis with its family-friendly beaches and famous Cobb harbour together with attractions such as the aquarium, and fossil museums where you can discover more about the extensive geological history of this well-known section of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
