Alternatively if you want an active holiday visiting places, seeing things, eating out etc it’s still the place for you. There is so much to do and see on the doorstep. Penny and Kit are the most welcoming of hosts and have provided a wealth of information in the cottage to help you enjoy your stay. Can’t thank you enough, we came back fully recharged.

  • "Fantastic stay at Court Prior cottage."

Hosts Penny and Kit were so welcoming and accommodating, they provided a fabulous welcome hamper of milk, eggs, butter, wine, fruit, plus the homemade lemon drizzle cake, bread and preserves were scrumptious. Beautiful highly appointed immaculate cottage with a lovely enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog Molly. It’s a excellent base for exploring South Hams. We had a fantastic week. The peace and quiet and the location made a welcome change to escape for a relaxing break.

  • "Everyone loved the homeliness of the cottage and thoroughly enjoyed their stay."

They said the beds were super comfy and they appreciated the home made goodies you left for them. Just a couple of things, they could have done with an extra frying pan and couldn’t find a cheese grater. Thank you for making them so welcome!

Lovely to have the young and their pups with us. There are both two frying pans and a grater in the cupboards - I’m sorry they didn’t knock on the door and ask as we would have pointed them in the right direction. Perhaps they had been put in a corner that wasn’t easy to see. Please come again if you are visiting your family in Blackawton. X Property Owner

This ranks as one of the best. The cottage itself was immaculately clean and one of the best equipped properties we have stayed in. Our hosts, Kit and Penny, were lovely and very welcoming. The welcome pack was amazing from fresh white roses, home made bread and yummy lemon drizzle, milk and butter and a lovely bottle of red wine. The weather wasn’t overly kind to us but we had a lovely week with our cavapoo Blue, who loved the garden and the doggy treats that were left for him. The local pub was great and the landlord very welcoming to us and Blue who was very happy with the doggy biscuits they gave him! We highly recommend Court Prior Cottage.

Thank you for your outstanding comments. We loved having you both and Blue here and do hope you will return Property Owner

The hosts were really welcoming, lovely people who made us feel special in their property. The homemade produce and welcome pack were the best we’ve ever had. They were full of helpful suggestions about the area and Kit’s Kitchen is an excellent way of spending an evening! The comments in the visitors’ book sum it up! The area itself is excellent for walking, both straight from the house and driving short distances to great locations, or the South West Coastal Path.

The property was a beautiful, traditional English country cottage, with excellent standards of decor and cleanliness throughout. Everything was there for a totally relaxed holiday. It was warm, cosy and extremely comfortable. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog, as were the many walks straight from the door of the cottage. The owner is an excellent former chef and cooked a great meal to welcome us on our first evening. I would gladly stay there again!

The owners, next door, were very friendly and helpful and supplied us with a fab welcome pack and lots of little extras. The enclosed front garden was also great for our two pooches. Fantastic walks from the cottage was a real bonus. Apart from the terrible weather, which is just life, we had a great stay. Shame the local pub was shut during our week but hey, it was January and I know a lot do close during this time. If I had to find a negative, it would be that we really needed a bit more space to hang very wet coats, leggings and dry off boots etc as the entrance porch was not heated and we worried about hanging all this in the main living area. Apart from that we couldn’t fault it.

Thanks for your feedback and comments noted. Thinking of ways and means and will make sure we can provide Such a good suggestion! Property Owner

Court Prior Cottage is just perfect and I'm delighted to have found it and booked it (we had originally booked for December 2020, but Covid rules forced us to postpone until June, and it worked out just fine). The cottage has been beautifully and stylishly renovated, with interesting paintings and pictures, very comfortable sofas and beds, loads of books, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and a pretty, enclosed garden. Our welcome pack included cake, eggs, milk, and a bottle of wine; which was a real treat. We book a lot of UK cottages and in many, we are lucky if we are given a J-cloth and some washing up liquid!
