  • "Lovely property - well equipped, and very comfortable."

  • "We had a really nice stay at Ferryside."

The position of the property is perfect for the steam railway and river dart / sea cruises. Ferryside is well equipped and extremely comfortable. There is lots of lovely walks in the area some along the edge of the river so flat. If you prefer there are walks up hills with breath-taking views of the river dart / harbour / sea and coast line. Dartmouth is a quick ferry ride across the river and Brixham a short drive.

  • "Lovely property with and excellent standard in comfort and cleanliness."

Good facilities, like TV in each room, plenty of power sockets, and a reasonably reliable WiFi. The only downsides are managing heat levels in the rooms, and the need for secure ventilation in the downstairs bedroom. We did note that drivers ignored the single sign requesting them to switch their engines off while waiting for the ferry - the fumes and noise were annoying. In case anyone is concerned, the ferry is not an issue.

  • "Beautiful apartment in a lovely location."

The apartment was very modern, with more than enough space for 4 adults to enjoy a relaxing week. The apartment was clean, bright and well equipped with everything we needed for our week's holiday. The only issue was parking, having no dedicated parking space. Parking was either in a public car park opposite at £8 for overnight parking or on side streets, up some very steep hills, which could create a problem if you had mobility issues.

  • "This is a lovely property in a prime position."

We thought it was exceptionally well equipped & a well thought out layout. We loved the artwork on the walls throughout. We were a little concerned at the way the shower screen leaks in the bathroom. It wasn’t an inconvenience, but the place is so beautifully decorated it seemed a shame to see the water stains. I would love to return to Ferryside for a longer stay

  • "Excellent property, well thought out."

Great location. Pictures don't do it justice somehow. The balcony was just right for alfresco breakfasts in the morning sun. Also got the evening sun too. Loads to do in the area.

  • "Ferryside is a beautiful property right in the heart of Kingswear."

The property is lovely, with the owners obviously having considered everything. The open area with the kitchen, table and sofas is a relaxing place to unwind after visiting the many local attractions. The nod to these local attractions in the form of various photographic wall art is a nice touch. We loved our time away at Ferryside and would love to return. If you're considering renting this property for your holiday, do not hesitate. We will miss grabbing a coffee from the coffee shop a couple of doors down, hopping on the ferry to Dartmouth, and watching the historic trains arrive and depart from the station opposite (as well as many other things).

  • "We were really impressed by the prime location of this property."

It really does provide a great base from which to explore. We only needed to use the car once in a week! The apartment itself is very well appointed. It is comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The 3 of us slept very well every night and the property had everything that we needed. We very highly recommend this property!

  • "Ferryside is a luxurious and chic property with super comfy mattresses and bedding."

Everything feels sturdy high end and easy to use. Sitting in the lounge area watching the ferry come in and the occasional gentle whistle of the steam train opposite was pure seaside pleasure. So much to see and do right on your doorstep yet peaceful and relaxing. An absolute gem - will definitely return.

  • "We had a lovely week in Dartmouth - enjoyed our accommodations which are a little quirky due to the layout."

The steam train is a great adventure as are the variety of boat trips to Greenwat etc. etc. Lots to do and see - the best part is the lower ferry fascinating to cross the river in this unique way!

Beautifully decorated and so incredibly clean. The house is in such a handy location; the steam train, ferries and buses are a stones throw away. Would highly recommend Ferryside, and would definitely stay there again.

Situated in the heart of the historic village this is a vibrant location, great for people watching, with the steam trains from Paignton arriving with passengers en-route for the ferries to Dartmouth and the regular 'clang', as the car ferry lowers its ramp onto the slipway nearby. At times this is a busy and bustling location, but it is fun, and you couldn't wish for a more convenient location at Ferryside: close to the quay and the river.

The property has just been totally refurbished for summer 2022 with new furnishings and appliances. All the windows have been replaced with UPVC double glazing: ideal if it does get a bit noisy.

Stairs with concealed lighting lead off the hallway to a stunning open plan sitting room, dining room and kitchen recently fitted out with new dark blue kitchen units and white sparkly granite worktops, complete with oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge freezer and full sized dishwasher.

The sitting room has a 50 inch smart TV or you can look out of the windows through the wide archway opposite with views of the quay and river.

Also approached off the living area is a small paved terrace with a bistro table and chairs.

The second bedroom features another king-size bed with large smart TV, along with a sleek en-suite shower room.

Nearby, you will find a wide range of cafes, art galleries, shops, and boutique eateries to delve into, all set on the breath-taking waterfront; The Seahorse Restaurant and Bushell's Riverside are popular restaurants to visit.

This really is a great location: ideal for stepping aboard a ferry to Dartmouth with its shops restaurants, cafes and art galleries or across the road to the station and take the steam train to Paignton.

There are some wonderful walks on the doorstep, with the property situated only a few yards from the South West Coast path.If you are feeling fit, then take the stunning coast path to the National Trust Coleton Fishacre Art Deco House and gardens, or walk alongside the river to Agatha Christie's Greenway House (also National Trust) with ferries back to Dartmouth or across the River to the charming Dittisham village.
