"This cottage does have wi-fi, there are details of the password in the house "pack"."

When the owners discovered we were using it it was turned off. This cottage is dog friendly but dogs are not allowed upstairs this was not mentioned prior to booking,, my dog is seven and sleeps where I sleep, so I slept on the lounge floor with the dog.. Welcome pack was absolutely fabulous. The garden, three acres of it, is tremendous, well worth the visit. We failed to find any noteworthy nearby attractions except Seaton Tramway.

The property

Set within the tranquil grounds of Little Trill, Vine Cottage is one of five beautifully preserved Grade II listed stone-built cottages.

Surrounded by over three acres of lovingly maintained gardens, this idyllic retreat in the hamlet of Trill offers a safe and scenic haven for children to explore, while adults can unwind and take in the serene views of the East Devon countryside. The cottage is traditionally furnished, providing comfortable and good-quality accommodation with a warm, welcoming feel.

Entry is via three steps leading to the ground floor, where guests will find a cosy lounge and a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area, perfect for relaxed meals and quiet evenings in. Upstairs, Vine Cottage accommodates up to six guests across three bedrooms: one double room and two twin rooms, making it ideal for families or groups of friends.

A family bathroom on this floor includes a bath with shower over, WC, and basin. Outside, guests can enjoy a small private patio area with outdoor furniture, ideal for morning coffee or evening drinks.

The cottage also benefits from shared access to the expansive three-acre grounds, which feature a summerhouse and additional seating areas for soaking up the peaceful surroundings. A thoughtful welcome pack is provided on arrival, including milk, tea, and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats to help you settle in and start your holiday with ease. Located just outside the village of Musbury, home to a shop and a friendly pub, Vine Cottage enjoys a prime position within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The surrounding landscape is a paradise for walkers and nature lovers, with easy access to the South West Coastal Path and the dramatic Jurassic Coastline.

Nearby hill forts such as Musbury Castle and Lamberts Castle offer panoramic views and a nod to the region’s rich history. Little Trill is perfectly placed between Axminster and Seaton, with the popular seaside town of Lyme Regis just five miles away.

Visitors can enjoy the iconic Cobb Harbour, explore galleries and independent shops, or visit attractions such as the Lyme Regis Aquarium, Marine Theatre, and town museum.
