3 Customer Reviews

  • "This is a lovely property, it is tastefully furnished and very well equipped with everything you need for a week away."

The beds are comfortable, the living room, dining room and outdoor seating area and comfortable rooms/areas to be in. The house was clean and modern with good off road parking. We would love to visit again.

Glad that you enjoyed your stay at Sundowner Cottage. We look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage but dining chairs unsuitable for children."

Parking good and good position for a number of beaches. BBQ filthy so could not use it and bin full when we arrived of unsorted refuse! House too hot . Fabulous kitchen but instructions complicated due to high end hob. Great bathrooms but more loo brushes?? No view from house as trees have grown but it could be amazing. No phone signal except outside. Main bathroom blind dodgy. Larger grater?

We appreciate that the dining chairs are of light colour but have served our family well, that include young grandchildren. Very sorry about the BBQ, it is now fully oven cleaned after each guest. Extra bins have now been provided which avoids the bins being full on arrival. A user manual has now been provided for all guests. Toilet cleaner is provided in all bathrooms, we consider toilet brushed to be unhygienic. BT have now boosted the phone signal using Wi-Fi call. The blind in main bathroom has been repaired. We hope that you will return again to our family home. Property Owner

  • "We just spent 6 nights at Sundowners Cottage in Axminster and thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

The house is beautifully decorated to a high standard, with top notch appliances in the kitchen and clean and comfortable living areas and bedrooms. Bathrooms were well-stocked with handsoap and toilet rolls. Washing machine and tumble dryer were in good order and stocked with washing tablets to use. Kitchen also had handtowels, detergents, bin bags and kitchen towel. Although it was not warm enough to enjoy the outdoor space, the garden and patio area looked very nice too. The road up the property was not in the best shape, with numerous large potholes thanks to all the recent rain so had to be taken slowly. There was no instruction or welcome manual for the property so we were not sure about things like rubbish removal. As well, the well-equipped kitchen would have benefitted from some additional instructions as we could not work out how to use the hob to start and the lower oven seemed to always trip the switchboard. We enjoyed the proximity to Lyme Regis (9 min drive) and all the amenities there as well as the Jurassic coast to go fossil hunting. We will definitely love to return again.

Thank you for your constructive comments. The road is a private non serviced road which local residents action necessary repairs. Full instruction manual has now been provided for all guests.. Look forward to you returning as some future date. Property Owner

The lovely market town of Axminster has been made famous by the well-known organic shop and canteen in the area, which were introduced by TV presenter Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Nestled in outstanding peaceful countryside, Axminster is certainly a place to relax and unwind. Famous for its carpets, which are often likened to Turkish examples, it is one of Devon’s prettiest smaller towns. Situated on the River Axe and within easy reach of both the West Dorset and East Devon Jurassic Coast, Axminster has many attractions, including plenty of privately owned shops, a weekly market and excellent old inns, with one dating back 100 years with its own resident ghost! With beautiful views on offer and the National Trust properties of Shute Barton and Loughwood Meeting House close by, Axminster is a must to visit.
