Kiln Cottage is a charming, three-storey riverside retreat situated in the picturesque village of Golant, Cornwall.

Offering stunning river views and convenient roadside parking, this delightful abode provides an ideal base for families or friends seeking a serene escape amidst the natural beauty of Cornwall's enchanting landscapes.

Elevated behind The Boat House and reached via a shared driveway, its commanding position ensures that almost every room captures a mesmerising view of the River Fowey, where sailing boats and paddleboarders glide by and the light dances on the water throughout the day.

At the front, a sheltered garden provides the perfect spot to bask in the sunshine, enjoy morning coffee, or simply let the sound of the tide serenade you.

On the ground floor, a dual-aspect, maple-built kitchen/diner combines traditional low beams with modern convenience.

Well-equipped with a double oven and grill, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher, it also offers space for chilled dining, making it an inviting hub for home-cooked meals.

Completing this level is a sleek shower room with a large walk-in cubicle, ideal for freshening up after a day exploring the coast.

A staircase leads to the first floor, where the triple-aspect sitting room takes centre stage.

A vast walk-in bay window draws in panoramic views of the river and surrounding countryside, while an open fire set on a slate hearth adds warmth and atmosphere on cooler evenings.

This inviting space flows through to a bright dining room, where mealtimes are accompanied by equally captivating vistas.

This floor also hosts a useful utility, a cloakroom, and two generous bedrooms, which consist of a spacious king-size bedroom with superb river views and a twin bedroom overlooking the gardens.

The entire second floor is dedicated to the master super-king-size bedroom, a truly indulgent retreat where six front-facing windows frame sweeping views across the moorings and wooded hillsides beyond.

The adjoining bathroom offers the same magnificent outlook, allowing you to soak in the tub while gazing over the tranquil waters.

From Kiln Cottage, a short stroll takes you to the village inn with its riverside gardens, the tidal pool, and scenic footpaths leading to St Catherine’s Castle and Readymoney Beach.

A little further afield, the Eden Project showcases extraordinary plant life from around the globe, while the Lost Gardens of Heligan reveal a remarkable Victorian garden restoration.

Visit Mevagissey’s working harbour, browse Par Market & Food Hall, or tee off at Lanhydrock and Carlyon Bay golf courses.

Thrill-seekers can head to Hangloose Adventure for adrenaline-fuelled activities, and wildlife enthusiasts can meet exotic species at Newquay Zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay.

For a taste of history, the Elizabethan manor house of Trerice offers an atmospheric step back in time.

After each memorable day, return to Kiln Cottage for a peaceful evening surrounded by Cornwall’s timeless beauty.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £300.
