  • "A really lovely cottage nestled in the Devon countryside; a real home-from-home."

Great owners - nothing was too much trouble. Lived the pets too! Swimming pool was adored by all.

  • "Lovely place to stay and get away from the rat race."

So well equipped. A little issue with the internet on arrival. Owner worked hard to resolve. It took a couple of days but it was beyond his control. Please get new large sofa as the one in the house is definitely past it's best. But overall good value with views that are just magical.

  • "We stayed here some years ago and were impressed with the cottage and its facilities."

It was excellent then and still is a wonderful place for a family or good friends. Jon is a super efficient host and is very proud of the improvements he has done, including improvement to the dreaded track down to the cottage, its so much better. The pool was very welcome during the very hot days we had, and the veranda was a godsend. Its a wonderful cottage.

  • "We had a great stay at The Cottage, the property was well equipped and had everything that was needed."

The welcome pack was also a lovely extra! We thoroughly enjoyed the views and the use of the swimming pool. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location.

  • "Great base, lovely and comfortable"

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at The Cottage."

Sue, the host was very friendly and welcoming as were her two dogs Poppy and Belle. The accommodation was very clean and perfect for our needs. The listing of the cottage on the Sykes website made no mention of some of the items that were provided so we ended up bringing tea towels, bath towels, and various other bits and pieces, so in that sense the property over delivered. The location of the property down a half-mile track was difficult to travel if you do not own an SUV. my sister's car struggled and scraped the underneath of the car trying to carefuly navigate the tracks. The listing should make this clearer. The cottage furniture inside and out was tired and is perhaps overdue replacement. The decking had loose boards and the reclining seats had rusted to breaking point. The tight wooden stairs down to the bedrooms were diificult to navigate and handrail was not present at the top. We requested a Stairway gate as our dog is not used to stairs but one was not provided/fitted. Our dog would have fallen down the stairs trying to follow us at bedtime so this was a big worry for us. The pool was excellent, warm and larger than we expected. Wer think with a few tweaks to the driveway lane to the cottage and to the furniture and stairs this would be 5 stars.

  • "Well where do I start?"

We didn't have the best of weather, but the cottage, the farm and Jon, Sue and family more than made up for it. We spent a wonderful week, walking the family farm dogs, Belle and Poppy, enjoyed the 6 farm cats making visits, my granddaughter was thrilled to be allowed to groom the horses, and we were just made to feel really welcome. Oh and I nearly forgot to mention the lovely indoor pool, perfect for our rainy days, and the generous welcome pack from Jon and Sue. We'd like to say a huge thank you to the whole family and hope to return again.

  • "We have just returned from a two week stay at The Cottage."

Sue and Jon were perfect hosts, being on hand if we needed them but also allowing us to really enjoy the peace and quiet that this location brings. We were able to totally relax which was just what we needed. The surrounding countryside provides numerous walks - both moorland, woods and rivers. Highly recommended is The Tors Inn at Belstone after a walk. We definitely plan to return to the Cottage - a wonderful holiday home.
