  • "Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location."

Great garden for the dogs to run around in safely as it’s completely enclosed. Lovely walks around the cottage and very comfortable place Would definitely recommend and return for another stay in the future

  • "Absolutely loved our time at The Stone Barn Cottage - I couldn’t recommend it more."

The hosts were friendly, and even let us help ourselves to the fresh eggs laid by the chickens they keep! The cottage itself was clean and well-presented, and in an ideal location. The enclosed garden was lovely and spacious, perfect for sitting outside and taking in the surrounding views. The property is located near to the local tea rooms and village shop, which were lovely to visit. We were also in walking distance of the River Dart, which is definitely worth visiting! Definitely the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed at, and would love to go back soon! :)

  • "Superb accommodation and location."

Hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming, we found the cottage well equipped and clean, large enclosed garden was excellent. Village had a well stocked village shop and lovely tea room both within walking distance, would absolutely recommend for exploring the area.

  • "Stonebarn Cottage was exceptionally comfortable and well-equipped."

We had very poor weather and I was on crutches, so our usual holiday activities, which involve walking and enjoying the outdoors, were not really feasible. The cottage was the perfect home from home. Holne is a pleasant village with a shop and tearoom, and is well located close to the edge of Dartmoor. Our dog enjoyed local walks and loved the garden.

  • "Wooded stairs up to kitchen were not good for my husband or sister as all the Toilets Were on ground floor"

    Mrs SobeyAug 2020

  • "Perfect location - hosts very helpful."

Managed a family get together - socially distanced of course in the garden at the back. Highly recommended.

The property

This comfy Devon cottage is situated on the edge of the Dartmoor village of Holne.

It has been converted from a barn attached to the owner's’ house and makes an ideal base for families and couples to enjoy Dartmoor and the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The upside down layout means you have a lovely lofty open plan space on the top floor with wood floor, seating area with wood burning stove, dining area, kitchen and steps leading up to a door to the garden.

Two of the three downstairs bedrooms enjoy an en suite, as well as the smart shower room.

The enclosed garden is a peaceful spot with lawn, views over countryside and the moors and garden furniture.

This is a wonderful place for the great outdoors, with excellent walks and riding stables nearby, as well as fishing for trout or salmon in the River Dart.

The beaches at Torbay are just 15 miles away, and of course the wide expanses of Dartmoor with its ponies, sheep and cattle are waiting to be explored.

The Stone Barn Cottage is a welcoming base for exploring the moors and south coast of Devon
