  • "Bramley cottage was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well maintained."

Set in a lovely village with a pub that did excellent food, it is well located to visit various local attractions. Excellent all round.

  • "The garden area was quite overgrown which impacted negatively on our initial reaction but we were not at all disappointed with the cottage itself."

It would be helpful to have a security light for the path to house as it could be hazardous in the dark.

  • "Loved Bramley."

Hope to come again. We appreciated the cream tea and the bottle of wine. Dawn was very helpful when we needed her. Sykes Photo shows the garden bigger than it is as the fence has been moved since the photo was taken which was a little disappointing. We found the duvet in the main bedroom very heavy. Having had a little moan we thought the cottage was lovely and didn t want to come home. Marion and Adrian Cherrington

  • "Situated in the chocolate box village of Whimple, Bramley cottage is a delightful home from home, spotlessly clean with good sized lounge, bedrooms, and bathroom along with a spacious kitchen so well equipped you could produce a full sized Christmas dinner!"

A dog walking area is 2 mins away, the pub The Thirsty Farmer 5 mins away (great food) and the shop, and Church 10 mins away. Ideal spot for touring this area of Devon. The web site shows the fenced area in front of the property available to the visitors, but this has been moved so presumably we were not allowed to use this area which is a shame as this lawned area is a far superior spot for the outside seating area rather than the rear of the property overlooking storage barns. However our stay was fully enjoyed and we would happily recommend this property.

  • "Comfortable clean well equipped cottage."

Lovely hamper left of cream tea, biscuits, bread, milk and wine and butter which was greatly appreciated. Everything provided for. Possibly leave some extra bin liners. Lovely quiet location and walks for the dog. Nice local pub “The Thirsty Farmer” dogs are welcome there inside and outside. Highly recommended.

  • "This was our 2nd stay at Bramley Cottage and as before it was comfortable, clean and well equipped and we enjoyed our stay very much."

We found wine, a cream tea, chocolate biscuits and milk in the fridge left for us which were all very welcome and a lovely start to our holiday. The WiFi is excellent and the TV has Netflix and Amazon. Dawn our host is very helpful with nothing too much trouble, but also leaves you to enjoy your holiday with no interference. Another wonderful stay.

  • "We had a fabulous week here, the cottage was so clean and had some lovely personal touches here and there and we were also provided with a cream tea, beautiful biscuits, bread and milk, which we were pleased to have and also very much enjoyed."

The beds were comfy and the duvets and pillows really nice, as were the covers, good quality features were in every room and you could tell it had been furnished with care and thought, we will definitely be back.

  • "We had a lovely weeks holiday as a family of four with our two dogs."

Cottage was very clean and well equipped, lovely goodies left for our arrival a very nice touch. Only feedback I can say is the main bedroom has a damp smell think it’s the wardrobe, due to only electric heaters the windows end up soaking wet on the Insides by the mornings. Thankyou for having us!

Thank you for your feedback. We have not had any comments about a damp smell before and the property is thoroughly checked on changeover. The cottage has also been newly painted. Each room has a brand new, correctly sized, modern electric heater which can be programmed if guests wish. However, if windows aren't opened to air the place, in conjunction with heating it, then there will be condensation on the insides of the windows. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your break otherwise. Property Owner

  • "This is a wonderful place to stay."

. everything was as described. The cottage felt very homely and was a real credit to the owners. I went there on crutches following recovery from Cancer and 3 major operations on my leg. My sister took me as I hadn’t been anywhere for over 2 years and the home exceeded expectation as did the owner Dawn and her family. They left some lovely treats in the kitchen for our arrival which were delicious and very much appreciated and Dawn checked we were ok and let us park next to the cottage so I didn’t have far to walk on crutches. We saw Dawn as we were leaving and told her what a brilliant stay we had had, and also let her know that we intend returning as soon as we can after Christmas. If you are looking for a home from home break with no stress and pure tranquility, this is it. Our dog loved it too and it was a great advantage having a fenced garden for him to stroll in. We would give it eleven stars out of ten!!!

  • "I had a most comfortable stay at the cottage and could not fault the equipment and the facilities."

I very much appreciated and was surprised by the thoughtful provisions left- from a bottle of wine to chocolate and everything in between. I would recommend to future guests and advise them that there is no necessity to bring dressing gowns as there are even two towelling robes!! I wish Dawn and Robin all the best with their future visitors. Carol

  • "A very spacious property; although we were only 2 pax."

Plenty of wardrobe space & hangers. The worst thing was the mattress on the double bed-they definitely need a new one. But the kitchen was better equipped than previously imagined and the house was clean. There is a musty smell but that is from being closed and shut for a period of time previously. Dawn (owner) was very helpful and pleasant. Lashings of hot water and a great situation. A good private base for travelling around Devon.

Thank you for your feedback and it is good to hear that your enjoyed Bramley Cottage and the location. Beds are of course a personal preference but we have checked with the owners and the mattress is a recently purchased quality pocket-sprung design and has an additional mattress topper for extra comfort. They haven't been aware of any musty smell but I am pleased to report they do make a point of airing the property on each changeover. Property Owner
