    This is a truly wonderful house in what is the world's best kept secret, Hope Cove. With panoramic sea views from both main bedrooms, the lounge and dining area, this house is a joy to be in on any day of the year, regardless of the weather. The pubs here are brilliant and a short walk from the house. You can park your car up and not use it again for the whole week, with beaches, coastal paths, great food and drink all on the doorstep, quite literally. It's such a magical place that it always ...

    This is a truly wonderful house in what is the world's best kept secret, Hope Cove. With panoramic sea views from both main bedrooms, the lounge and dining area, this house is a joy to be in on any day of the year, regardless of the weather. The pubs here are brilliant and a short walk from the house. You can park your car up and not use it again for the whole week, with beaches, coastal paths, great food and drink all on the doorstep, quite literally. It's such a magical place that it always bring me great calm and happiness, so much so I never want to leave. I've been to many places all over the world and this is the one place I am always very sad to leave behind. A place to be treasured and remembered, I can't recommend Westward enough. It's a charming house and location. But ssh, don't tell anyone else.

The property

LOCATION The house is situated in an imposing position high above Hope Cove on the very edge of the coastal path offering easy access to a series of beautiful walks to Salcombe, Thurlestone and other coastal villages.

The local beaches, pub and shop are all within a 5-10 minute walk whilst the links golf courses at Thurlestone and Bigbury are just a short drive away.

VIEWS Spectacular panoramic views across to Bolt Tail, Burgh Island and beyond from most of the main reception rooms and bedrooms.

ENTRANCE For convenience a side entrance leads into a newly refurbished BOOT ROOM with fitted units, cupboards and coat hooks. UTILITY AREA with washing machine and tumble dryer.

The boot room leads into the kitchen.

KITCHEN/DINING ROOM Fitted kitchen with 2-oven AGA, four-ring electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, breakfast bar with four stools and radio/cassette player.

The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.
