  • "Lovely lodge very comfortable for me and my family - 2 kids 7 and 9."

Within 30 mins can reach over 10 beaches and Looe, Fowey and Polperro. We were right be the entrance to the park and it was very quiet. Hot tub on balcony was well used daily and beds were comfortable. We dod not miss the lack of TV channels (some Aerial problem) saw baby foxes, rare birds and other wildlife which was a great.

Thank you so much for leaving us your amazing review Robert, I am very jealous that you got to see baby foxes, how fantastic! It's wonderful to hear how much you loved 11 Lake View and staying with us at Stonerush Lakes, I hope this means you will come back soon to see us again. • "Accommodation was excellent however we had issues with the TVs."

The tvs were not able to access free sat and the only App that worked was bbc I-player as we did not have account to access the other ones (itv-x for eg). The park maintenance did try to resolve the issue but were unable to do so - and did mention we weren’t the first occupants of this lodge who had this issue. There were no issues when we previously visited 18mths or so ago.

Thank you so much for leaving us your feedback Craig, I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at 11 Lake View, despite the issues you encountered. We are very sorry for the frustrations caused again by the network issues during your stay, unfortunately, this has required an eternal contractor to visit and we are in the process of carrying out the repairs. We do hope that despite the problems you faced, you will come back and stay with us again in the future. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "What can I say besides an absolutely amazing stay at 11 Lake View in Stonerush Lakes."

I had some conversations with the team at Stonerush as the trip was for my dad's birthday, and they went above and beyond. When we arrived we found Prosecco, Balloons and a handwritten card in the lodge on our arrival, we also visited the Old Mill and Sally (who is lovely) came up and hugged us all to welcome us, it made our trip feel really special. Stonerush Lakes is beautiful and quiet, while there are a lot of lodges there, it never feels that way, the way they've set it up, it feels incredibly private and extremely peaceful. In the day all you hear are birds chirping and due to minimal light pollution, at night you get to see all the stars. The lodge itself is beautiful and really big, the pictures do not do it justice and it has everything you need for a great time away. You can tell they've put thought into making it a lovely place to stay and little touches like fresh milk being in the fridge when you arrive, a welcome box with coffee, tea, biscuits, extra bin bags, washing up liquid etc are a nice touch. The living room and both bedrooms have a beautiful view down to the lakes, and when you're sitting in bed or on the sofa you just see hills, trees and the lake. The beds and pillows were great also, we all had a lovely night's sleep every night. Even though there are no pictures of the hot tub, it could easily fit 5 people. It's set just off the living room/dining room and very well hidden from view with hangers outside for robes/towels. I was worried being so close to the entrance it would be noisy, but I didn't hear a soul or car the entire 6 days of our trip. The lodge is set back and down from the road that leads down into the site, with 3 sides fully hidden away from view and a private driveway that can fit two cars. I can't say anything except for positive things, I would return in a heartbeat and we were all very sad to leave.

Thank you very much for leaving us such amazing feedback Adam, we really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences with us after your stay at 11 Lake View, It was so lovely to meet you all (especially your dad, whose birthday you were celebrating!) when you arrived. I am delighted that you loved your lodge and the beautiful resort we have here at Stonerush Lakes. I really do hope you will all come back to see us again in the very near future! This was our honeymoon so we’re so happy that our two weeks at Stonerush Lakes were perfect. The lodge blew us away. The site was so quiet, all we heard for two weeks was birdsong and the occasional sheep. The pictures and site map don’t do justice to how big and spacious the lodge is and how tucked away from the other lodges it is. Hot tub was great the the outside decking was huge, perfect for enjoying the sun all day through. Will definitely be back again.

The only sound is birdsong. We were the only people at lunch in the pub/restaurant and although everywhere was fully booked we didn't see a soul! A con is that Heligan is a good hour's drive away and Eden Project 40 mins+. But having said that, we had some lovely coast path walks and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this beautiful part of Cornwall (in spite of mediocre weather.) The Lodge is very comfortable and well equipped, the beds are comfortable and there are walks in the immediate vicinity. Certainly a good place to relax but not suitable for children: don't think because there are lakes that there are water sports!

Thank you so much for letting us know about your wonderful experience staying at 11 Lake View, I am delighted you enjoyed your visit. It sounds as if you explored a lot of Cornwall, despite the weather not being too great! You are right about the lakes at Stonerush; we are a bit of a haven for wildlife here and therefore we keep the lakes for the use of the animals and birds, however there are venues that provide water sports on our doorstep! I hope you will be back to stay with us again very soon. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

!,so much more.I am unable to work now,due to being diagnosed with cancer last year, and my partner, has had quiet serious health problems herself the past few months celebrate getting to the halfway mark of my treatment, and for us to both just "get away" from it all and "life" in general,we wanted to try and find somewhere that was secluded, totally peaceful, yet had all the easy access and layout that we needed for her,and have all the "modcons" you could possibly wish for,and expect.A VERY tall "ask" for,and quiet unrealistic you would think,in this day and age, without having to compromise on some things at least...BUT..BOY!,did we FIND IT!!,and, absolutely NO COMPROMISE NEEDED!!.The lodge was,and is, absolutely top drawer, very modern, with a beautiful"open plan layout",and with every luxury you could possibly want or need for the enjoyment of your break.gorgeous kitchen and lounge areas, beautiful bedrooms, one being ensuite and with air-conditioning too,and a handy walk in shower, ideal for my partner, lovely main bathroom with shower over bath, and the decor was of a very high standard, with windows, everywhere including the full depth, ceiling to floor, sliding glass doors out to the decking surrounding the lodge, from both the lounge, and the bedrooms..and giving unhindered viewing to the AMAZING woodlands, hills, and lakes outside, and to the hot tub and seating too,and "bringing in " the outside..."inside",making the whole experience even more enjoyable, especially when sat on the comfy and very accomodating "soft touch" electric recliner sofas.. VERY VERY hard to bring yourself to get OUT from!!

It was just what was needed to unwind and recharge! The hot tub and aircon were great additions, as well as the welcome pack- thank you! We had a couple of meals at The Old Mill (onsite restaurant) and would definitely recommend. To make the lodge even better, extra time cleaning the ensuite bathroom and the decking area- the glass panels would give it a 5* rating from us. Otherwise we had a brilliant week and would love to return.

On each occasion we have stayed for three weeks. We can honestly say it was a delight to be in such a beautiful lodge in such a beautiful setting. If you want a peaceful holiday this is the place. Access is winding through typical Cornish roads ( tarmac ditches ) which you get used to but also adds to the tranquility of the site. My wife Janet has a disability which makes sleeping in a bed very difficult. The electric reclining sofas are excellent ,perfect condition and exceptionally comfortable. This feature firstly attracted our attention and everything else was a bonus. Would also like to mention Christine in reception who checked the sofas for us as this is so important for my wife’s stay. Hoping to be back next year for our third stay Janet and Janet Smith

  • "The lodge is really nicely decorated and well equipped, we found we had everything that we needed in the kitchen, comfortable beds & sofa, lovely fluffy towels and handy dressing gowns."

Small toiletry pack and kitchen pack were also a nice touch. The site is extremely quiet, we enjoyed visits on the balcony from geese, birds and squirrels. Slightly let down by a few things that could easily be rectified - green algae on the glass around the balcony and entrance gate, lots of cobwebs around the front door and inside on a high skylight, crumbs left in the biscuit container. The biggest let down was the hot tub. It was one of the main reasons that we booked the accommodation but after 3 days usage the water was very cloudy, produced foam when we put the bubbles on and smelt. We asked for it to be checked twice - we were told it was, but nothing was done about it. So whilst it may have been checked and it was ‘safe’, it just wasn’t nice to sit in & the brochure clearly says to let them know if anything isn’t right, so disappointed that nothing was done about it.

Thank you for leaving your feedback we are glad you were able to enjoy the surroundings including the wildlife, we were assured that the Hot Tub had been sorted and can only make sure that this does not happen going forward, the decking and glass surround have been jetwashed and the cleanliness has been addressed. • "Such a wonderful property!"

We had assumed that the pictures made it look bigger and nicer than it is but the opposite is true; the pictures don’t do it justice! It feels like the owner must spend time at the property - lovely touches with the decor, well stocked kitchen (with space for your own food etc), lovely hot tub and so much private outdoor space so 2 couples could easily stay and still have private space if they wish. The only extremely minor thing that was less than perfect was that the welcome pack was for the other Charteroak site that is a few miles away - so the nearest amenities may not be correct. Very handy location for various tourist attractions; we visited Eden Project, Bodmin moor, Jamaica Inn, Tintagel castle, and several beautiful fishing villages. The site is also lovely, the lodges are well spaced out and the onsite restaurant is good too. Otherwise a really lovely experience and we will be returning again (specifically to 11 Lake View though I’m sure other lodges on the site are lovely too!)

Thank you for your great review we are glad it met your expectations and were able to enjoy the hot tub in the private outdoor space. It is nice you were able to explore some of Cornwalls attractions. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

When you drive into the site there is a large sign that states 10-11 Lake View with arrows, but they seem to send you in the wrong direction. When we eventually found where no 11 was there was the tiniest sign on the sleeper in the front garden and foot level so difficult to see! In you details you could advise that it is the first property on the right just down the hill! However apart from that the lodge was superb, even down to supplying robes for the hot hub (which we made great use of). The kitchen could use a few more essentials such as a grater and scales for those of us who weigh our food! All that said we very much enjoyed our stay.

About the location

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
