  • "The property has a lovely bright lounge looking out onto the south-facing garden where there is a large patio table and very comfy lounging chairs."

The area is very quiet and we never had any issues finding a space to park near the house. It's on the outskirts of the village centre which is less than a 10 minute walk away where there's a playground, very well-stocked Asda Express at the petrol station and a couple of pubs. Make sure you take a walk round the village centre as it's gorgeous! The property has central heating throughout and a smart TV and we were very comfortable staying there overall. The only annoyances were that the front door sticks at the top (which the owner is aware of) and that every internal door is a fire door and therefore very heavy and unable to be left open. The owner is lovely and I'm sure would have been advised to do this but it's not very practical with young children and when trying to carry plates of food or cups of tea. This would not deter us from staying again however as it's a lovely little property in a great location. Apart from being so close to Salcombe, it's a 12 minute drive to the big supermarkets in Kingsbridge, and 20 minutes to South Milton and Banham beaches - both of which are lovely. If you're a nervous driver though please be aware that to get to any beaches in this area of Devon you have to drive down very narrow lanes! Salcombe itself can easily be accessed via the Salcombe Road and you can park up near the quay. From there it's quite a walk to the beaches or you can get on a boat. There's no parking at South beach and the one at North beach gets busy. The beaches across the other side of the bay look gorgeous though!
