  • "The first glimpse of Higher Wadden Farm was stunning and it lived up to expectations."

Lots of space, very well equipped - things like plenty of glassware and crockery so we weren't constantly washing up. Great views and very peaceful, massive kitchen for family cooking together. Plenty of parking for three generations of our family. We did think it a bit of a shame that there wasn't a big enough table for us all to eat in the large bright conservatory as an alternative to the darker dining area. But that is more of a suggestion than a criticism ; we had a splendid time in all respects. As is made clear in the listing there are quite a few steps and changes of level which made the house fascinating and you can easily lose members of the family for ages ! Friendly and helpful hosts. A great venue we would recommend.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Higher Wadden farm."

A beautiful old farmhouse surrounded by stunning views. The pictures don’t really do it justice. The property is very well equipped with just about everything you could possibly want for a comfortable stay. The rooms stayed remarkably cool in the current heatwave which was a bonus. The only thing that bothered us was the electric Aga which the owners ask to be left on. We didn’t need it to cook on it as there is another electric cooker and hob. The outside of the Aga gets incredibly hot which is potentially dangerous if there are small children. We had to put a heavy bench in front of it for safety reasons. The property is well situated for visiting the Devon coastal towns from Sidmouth to Lyme Regis. The country lanes are hair raising at first but we quickly got used to them. Overall we had a fantastic holiday in this lovely old house, exploring the local area and enjoying walks around the farm getting to know the animals.
