"Cozy traditional cottage."
..only small issue was that floorboards and stairs very creaky which made dog bark when moving around early morning.
Grounds were fantastic and Tim (owner) was very accomodating and helpful, true gent.
Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break.

"Perfect warm and cozy house, with plenty of space and everything you need."
The most comfy bed I’ve ever had in a holiday home!
Hosts were lovely, being able to explore the farm an added bonus. Our three dogs loved being able to walk out from the house onto the moors.
We used the indoor pool every day and the fitness equipment most mornings too.
The local area has so much to do and of interest. Lydford gorge and the White Lady Water (and the walk between them if you are fit) plus an explore of the castle and Saxon town was probably our best day. Morwellham quay was really interesting and they need support to continue the restoration. Tavistock is a lovely little town and the Guidehall museum (free) well worth half an hour of your time. The market is lovely too and there are lots of little shops selling local produce.
We had an amazing week and would definitely return. The welcome cake and milk was an unexpected surprise so thanks for that.
An all round great holiday.

"A perfect retreat for a relaxing break, Red Barn is extremely comfortable and the pool is a bonus."
Rumour, our border terrier, had a nice time he’s getting a bit elderly now (15 1/2) so we didn’t go for a long walk but he enjoyed his short walks on the moor.

"What a fabulous location."
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at The Red Barn. Great facilities including the swimming pool, tennis court, gym and games room. Couple of minor maintenance issues and bit more detail needed to some areas of cleaning, but on the whole would recommend this property. Thank you to Tim for inviting our girls to feed the baby lambs. They loved it.

"We stayed at The red barn for Christmas."
We had never been away at Christmas time before so was a little unsure if what to expect, but Victoria and Tim were so helpful even before our holiday started. The kitchen is very well equipped, as is the whole place. The red barn is spacious and well laid out our family of 6 including 3 teenagers and a 3 year old had plenty of room. Everyone loved the pool. The pictures do not do the red barn justice it is far more beautiful. If you are considering booking then do it, we all wanted to stay longer.

"A lovely spacious property which was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 2 teenagers."
It was also perfect for our dog with a super large enclosed garden and glorious surrounding farm and countryside. Ideally located for exploring Dartmoor and a short distance from charming Tavistock and various shops and superstores. Excellent owners/hosts who were to hand for support with the indoor Endless Flow pool. The Red Barn was converted from a farm building in 2002 to a well proportioned, super holiday rental with quality furnishings. Some updating has been undertaken with scope for more in the near future. All in all a lovely week in a lovely house. Shame the weather wasn't suitable to enjoy the 0outside space!

"This is simply a perfect holiday house for families in all seasons."
We (my husband, 17 & 11 year old sons, Dilys the dog and I) visited the The Red Barn for a February half term break and were extremely impressed with the house and facilities. The location is simply perfect, very quiet with beautiful views across farmland and out to the moors. The house itself is spacious and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a family holiday. The pool is a huge bonus and so convenient as it's actually part of the house. The beds were extremely comfy and the heating works very well so the house was always toasty which was very important in February. The owners were kind and helpful - I'd love to go back one day soon please!

Beds were comfy and lovely location hosts were friendly
The only issue was that the host wanted to maintain the pool while it was being used and the children all had to get out which ruined their time in the pool

"Th Red Barn is in such a peaceful location."
It is truly stunning. We stayed as a family of four with our dogs and enjoyed wonderful walks, lovely trips to Tavistock for the shops and cafes and there are some great local pubs a short drive for food and drinks. The barn has what you need, and the bedding is wonderful. The pool is a great extra, our children had never swum against a current before! Final comment - the barn was so lovely and warm throughout our stay and the lounge photos don't do it justice!! Thank you for a lovely stay!
