  • "The flat is in a good location, with public transport to neighbouring coastal resorts, and walking distance to Teignmouth or Shaldon."

    It is nicely furnished and clean inside with comfortable chairs, good working tv and well laid out dining area. There are two bedside lamps in each bedroom, although in both rooms only one lamp has cable long enough to reach the plug to be operational as a bedside lamp. As we were 4 adults from two households, we opted for accommodation offering two bathrooms - one per household. There is an en-suite in one of the bedrooms, with shower and toilet, but no wash basin, so teeth cleaning was a challenge. There is a main bathroom downstairs with bath and hand shower, toilet and wash basin. Access between downstairs bathroom and first floor accommodation is by way of steep stairs, which is noted in the description. However, the steep stairs are made hazardous by shag pile carpet and an inadequate short grab rail halfway along on one side. The kitchen sink has a combined spray tap which hangs low in the sink, and was awkward to use when filling the kettle or drinking bottles. The front of the property is neglected and uninviting. Black bins were full (there were no instructions about bin day). The parking space is narrow as expected. Due to challenges of getting the car out, we opted for walking and bus travel throughout our stay. Access to garden was easy - but again neglected. Advertised with patio and garden furniture, the chairs and table were muddy, and the patio area was uninviting.

The historic, seaside town of Teignmouth is situated in South Devon on the mouth of the Teign estuary and boasts a working harbour, sandy beach, Victorian pier, sailing club, diving centre and sea activity centre. The seaward side of the town is known as ‘the Den’ and has elegant Georgian buildings, a large public area with lawns, play areas, tennis courts, a bowling green, and a miniature lighthouse. On the opposite side of Teignmouth are fishing boats and beach huts, plus views of the village of Shaldon and the hills of Dartmoor can be seen. Teignmouth also hosts folk and jazz festivals each year, whilst both the town and Shaldon hold annual carnivals and water regattas.
