The property

Situated on a quiet street in the village of Silverton, Devon is Jean's Cottage, a semi-detached, thatched cottage in a convenient location.

Within easy reach of local amenities, a wealth of characterful features, and a delightful garden, the cottage is ideal for a couple, a small family or friends sharing.

This Grade II-listed cottage opens up into the living/dining room, fit with exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace where you can dine before cosying up to watch a film or read a book.

From here, the kitchen, neat and well-equipped, provides you with a space to cook up a storm for your loved ones.

Outside, the garden is a real suntrap until as late as 7pm, making it perfect for dining alfresco in the warmer months.

Back inside this chocolate box cottage, two bedrooms can be found upstairs, a double and a single, where you can rest your head before another day of adventures.

Completing the interior is a lovely bathroom, fit with a claw-foot bath for soaking in.

Take a break from cooking and enjoy a meal and drink at either The Lamb Inn or The Silverton Inn, before heading back to snuggle up.

Charming days out can be found at National Trust Killerton and National Trust Clyston Mill, which are both within easy reach of the property by car, and you'll also find yourself with easy access to both the North and South Devon coasts.

For walking and cycling, head to the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where there is also a range of quaint villages to explore.

Slightly further afield is the Dartmoor National Park, home to an abundance of nature and outdoor activities to try.

About the location

SILVERTON

Upexe 1.2 miles; Cullompton 5.7 miles; Exeter 8.6 miles.

Nestled in the heart of Devon, between two rivers, Exe and Culm, is the village and civil Parish of Silverton. Silverton is not only large in size and population, but is one of the oldest settlements in Devon, dating back to the Saxon times and is home to a 1,000 year-old oak tree. The village is home to the essentials guests need during a self-catering holiday, including The Lamb Inn, a popular pub serving tasty meals and local ale, as well as a well-equipped convenience store. Silverton also enjoys easy access to a range of sights, with the National Trust property of Killerton, a 1778 manor house, rests a short distance south from the village, and the living museum of Coldharbour Mill resting in the east. Many picturesque towns, villages and cities can be found settled around Silverton, including the nearby, bustling city of Exeter resting on the South Devon coast. Nature enthusiasts will also be pleased by the village's close proximity to Dartmoor National Park and several Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, from the Blackdown Hills to the Quantock Hills.
