  • "An outstanding lodge with everything you could possibly need or want inside and out."

Our two boys were ecstatically happy they both had a tv in their rooms as there are 4 tv's in the lodge. I cannot state enough what a superb place sunset view is to stay at. My husband says the fishing on both lakes are excellent, with very good quality fish and he loved having the peace to fish on both lakes. A huge thank you to Tom and Jez and their wives, we will be back.

Settled in the countryside on a spectacularly private site boasting plenty of space in Kentisbeare near Cullompton, Devon is this newly built for 2023, Sunset View at Mill Hayes Lakes.

This idyllic, wooden lodge benefits from being the only lodge in 23 acres and has a luxurious, open-plan interior welcoming up to six guests in three beautifully-appointed bedrooms, a covered decking with a hot tub and communal access to a children’s playground, barbecue area and a fire pit as well as on-site fishing; a wonderful setting for families or friends looking to explore the wonders of Devon.

Cross the threshold into the heart of the home where you can relax after a day of exploring by the warmth of the crackling woodburning stove while the designated chef of the group gets acquainted with the fully-equipped kitchen.

Savour their culinary creations at the dining table before heading off to watch the kids burn off some energy in the playground.

Later, tuck them into the fun twin room then head out onto the decking for a soothing soak in the bubbling hot tub which boasts a fabulous view across the lake and countryside.

When the sun dips behind the rolling countryside, step inside to wash off the day’s adventures in the bathroom before choosing between a double with en-suite shower room or another double, both with Hypnos hotel grade beds and fitted with TVs for lazy mornings and adorning stunning lakeside views.

If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic bolthole, enjoy a well-earned break from the kitchen at the Wyndham Arms, within walking distance, or the Keepers Cottage and The Ashill, before making your way to Cullompton where you can pick up all the essentials for your self-catered stay.

The on-site Fishery, first established in the 80s, also includes two specimen lakes and is included in your stay at the lodge, ideal for relaxing afternoons.

All the Fish stocks have been supplied by Priory Fishery: Willow is 2 acres and has been stocked with 90 Carp that average 25lbs, with at least 15 different 30lbers, while James pool is 0.25 acres and offers Specimen Coarse Fishing with Bream over 4lbs, Crucians to 2.5lbs, 1lb Golden Rudd and Tench over 7lbs.
