  • "We had a wonderful week’s stay at Honeysuckle cottage!"

Our kids (aged 5 and 9) absolutely loved playing in beautiful grounds - perfect for long games of hide and seek. The cottage had everything we needed and more, with the bonus of a washing machine and dishwasher, making self catering a breeze. The only downside was the poor Wi-Fi signal, but on the upside it helped us enjoy with the whole concept of getting away from it all! We would definitely consider coming back again.

  • "The quaint cottage and walks near by."

Lovely towns to visit near by to visit by car. A cosy cottage with a good kitchen with cleaning products, dishwasher tablets. Lots of fun 2000s and 90s dvds to choose from.

  • "Our main issues with the property were that the beds and furniture were extremely uncomfortable and the property (in particular the floors and rugs) was not particularly clean on arrival."

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry you found the carpets and rugs not clean when you arrived. We have had detailed conversations with LymeBay who are responsible for cleaning and checking that the cottage is ready for guests arrival. They have made changes to their processes to ensure this does not happen again. Property Owner

  • "Finding actual property on site very tricky better signage needed."

. fortunately the cleaners were still at another property there in the afternoon to ask.  The guest information book is well out of date claiming that things are in the back of a folder that are actually in a draw underneath a gas boiler did not help when trying to work out how to use the hob etc., and the actual switch for hob hidden behind microwave! your description overall telling me that it was a gas cooker was entirely false as it was all electric therefore money wasted on buying unnecessary matches as I only have electric at home. Claiming it's dog friendly when there are no fences to contain your animals there is also wrong.

  • "Amazing little cottage with all you need for your stay."

A lovely base very close to Axminster, Lyme Regis and Seaton. The owners left a welcome package which was much appreciated with milk in the fridge, tea bags and coffee. The dog loved the space and freedom. The cottage is not enclosed so bare in mind that if your dog is not trained as there are a couple of cottages in the row with access to all of them. Also there is WiFi however, I would not rely on it as it was very slow and would disconnect. Also due to the location mobile data is pretty poor. Just a thought if someone needed to work remote from the cottage. But this did not spoil the holiday it was lovely and tranquil listening to the birds and animals in the evenings on the farm next door. Thank you for a lovely stay Honeysuckle cottage, we will be returning.

Thank you for your comments, and we're pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The cottage is within the grounds of the main house, and outside space is open to the front of the cottage. Being in a rural location the WIFI can be intermittent and the owner has set-up a satellite internet service to try to provide a better coverage. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "This property is ideally situated for exploring the western part of the Jurassic Coast and is spacious with good parking."

The property was clean and well-equipped. The local garage and shop are convenient and well-stocked for a convenience store. The garden area is delightful as a space for relaxation and recreation. The only issues were that the Wi-Fi is weak and slow so it cannot be relied on, and the heating struggled with the cold spell that hit the area whilst we were there.

Set in over three acres of beautifully maintained communal gardens, this pretty cottage offers a safe and scenic retreat for families or small groups, with plenty of space for children to play and explore while adults relax and soak up the tranquillity of the countryside. A gravelled courtyard parking area leads to the front of the cottage, where a small terrace with outdoor seating overlooks the impressive shared grounds.

Inside, the open-plan living space retains much of the cottage’s original character, featuring exposed stone walls, wooden ceiling beams, and a cosy sitting area.

The farmhouse-style kitchen is thoughtfully designed to complement the historic charm of the property, and includes all the essentials for preparing family meals, which can be enjoyed at the dining table beside a traditional window seat. Upstairs, Honeysuckle Cottage comfortably sleeps four guests across two bedrooms: a homely double room with sloping ceilings and countryside views, and a twin room ideal for children.

A tiled bathroom with a bath, shower attachment, WC, and basin provides a relaxing space to refresh after a day of exploring. Outside, guests can enjoy the extensive shared grounds, which include lawns, colourful planting, and peaceful seating areas, perfect for dining al fresco or simply enjoying the sunshine.

A welcome pack is provided on arrival, including milk, tea, and a selection of locally sourced treats to help you settle in and start your holiday with ease.
