    “Absolutely superb in every aspect”

A large group of us descended on Old Byres for New Year’s 2019. The house has loads of things to keep children and adults of all ages entertained for days. From a Hot Tub and very effective sauna to a decent size pool table and toys and games in the cupboards. Not forgetting outdoor aspects such as table tennis and a kids Wendy house. We didn’t get in the pool as it was winter but it looked great. Big TVs & audio facilities are present. I think 3 log burners from memory providing a lovely feel to an already warm house. Stacks of space, even a second utility area with a spare fridge which is very handy when going away with big numbers. Massive lounge plus a large family/dining area with plenty of seats for dinner. The cleanliness was superb. The people who look after the house were extremely helpful and responsive. Really easy check-in with a great welcome package. From start to finish Sara (the owner) was fantastic to deal with. Location excellent for day trips or just sightseeing locally.

Linhay Holiday Cottages

Situated in the delightful village of Washford in West Somerset are these two luxurious cottages. Sleeping a total of twenty five people between them, these two cottages have been beautifully decorated and furnished to a high standard. With most bedrooms having en-suite bathrooms, these two fabulous cottages offer all of the luxuries that you would expect from a holiday home. With country-style kitchens with flagstone floors, cosy sitting rooms with inviting woodburning stoves and exposed beams and stone walls throughout, these two cottages provide accommodation for the discerning holidaymaker. There is a private outdoor area at each of these cottages plus use of a large grassed area with access to a stream. Both cottages also have their own sauna. Just two miles from the coast, there are some beautiful coastal resorts to explore, including the ancient port of Watchet and Blue Anchor Beach. A fabulous holiday destination, there is a huge variety of attractions for everyone from these cottages, including the West Somerset Railway, historic houses and gardens and plenty of walking and cycling.

The property

The larger of the two properties, this cottage is extremely spacious and provides a fabulous holiday home for families wishing to celebrate that special occasion in style and luxury.

Combining character features with modern décor and with underfloor heating and two woodburners, this wonderful cottage feels welcoming and special.

The hub of the home is no doubt the large kitchen diner with handmade refectory table positioned close to the patio doors, so that the family can spill out on to the lawn for alfresco breakfasts and summery evening barbecues.

Alternatively, on cooler evenings, the kitchen/diner has a woodburner and sofas for relaxing in front of the chef!

The cosy sitting room has high vaulted ceilings with plenty of exposed oak beams, a collection of deep sofas and a woodburner to toast your toes after a day’s walking in the countryside, or a hectic day on the beach.

Relax together for a film night or for a quieter moment there is a piano for the musical member of the family to entertain you.

The cottage has a mixture of ground floor and first floor bedrooms, most with en-suite bathrooms, some with private TVs and a combination of bed sizes that ensure the whole family has a very comfy stay.

The master bedroom has a super king-size bed with an en-suite and has the added touch of an ethanol fire built between the bedroom and bathroom for that romantic feel!

To keep the whole family amused between meals and outings, there is the warm cosy games room which also has a woodburner and sofas, perfect for the spectators of the pool table.

Why not relax in the sauna, have a dip in the swimming pool or chill out in the hot tub under the stars?

For teenies and pets, there is an enclosed courtyard garden with Wendy house and lawn area, plus plenty of seats for adults to sit peacefully.

Note: This property is next to Ref 958641, together they sleep 25.
