"We had really nice week at Broadstones cottage in July 2026."
The owners were very friendly and helpful. Kitchen was fully equipped and excellent views from each room. Very private garden and we spent a lot of our time in the conservatory with 180 degrees view of beautiful fields, farms and mountains. Very short drive to nearby towns beaches and shopping. We would love to visit again and highly recommend to anyone in need of an escape from a busy city life.

"Broadstones is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, tranquil, the most beautiful setting."
It gives you total relaxation from the moment you arrive until you leave. Martin and Valerie are so passionate about ensuring you have the most relaxing experience. Some holiday cottages advertise peaceful location, but have other accommodation, either next door or close proximity. We've experienced too many noisy, selfish people, who believe they are entitled to behave however they choose.Staying at Broadstones will guarantee the peaceful holiday you deserve. We would highly recommend to everyone, look no further CHOOSE BROADSTONES - WE WILL BE BACK

"The bungalow has an amazing wrap around garden which the dogs loved."
The accommodation was clean, comfortable and in a very peaceful location with everything we needed.
There was WIFI and a huge TV so we were able to watch tennis and football in the evenings.
It was a short drive to Charmouth beach which has plenty of parking and is dog friendly. We had a very relaxing break at Broadstones.

"Broadstone was a perfect peaceful retreat after a days adventure on the glorious South Devon / Dorset Coast."
We were very lucky with sunny weather all the two weeks and Broadstones was always a pleasure to return to and relax. Very easy to maintain and all very well equipped for four adults and a dog. Pippa loved the expansive garden lawn areas to play ball on. Will definitely recommend to our friends and WE'LL BE BACK SOON!!!

"Beautiful location for wildlife, we saw Deer,Fox,Hare,Pheasant so many different birds."
Surrounded by local dog friendly pubs and beaches.
The enclosed garden is super for medium and larger dogs but our smaller one could get under the fences in a couple of places, however the owners have done a good job of making as safe as possible.
There are no pavements as you are in the middle of the countryside, beautiful country walks and loads of things to do locally.

"The bungalow is set in a very rural location with stunning farmland views out of every window."
It was great eating breakfast in the conservatory where the views were ‘wrap around’ I would definitely stay there again. The only reason I the facitilies got a 9 instead of a 10 was because the shower head and tray/drainage needs a little attention. It didnt affect our enjoyment of the accommodation which was otherwise top class/gold star… thanks to the lovely Mrs Widger. She has thought of everything!

The garden was secure for the dog and there was use of a large field too. The only drawback was the road to the property it’s single track with passing places but there are plenty of places to pass

"Very nice bungalow to stay in with countryside views all round."
Big garden so lots of sun till 9pm if not cloudy. Bed and chairs comfy and plenty of cooking utensils in kitchen. Conservatory is lovely to eat in or relax. Owners live nearby and are very friendly. Towels are small so if you like to wrap yourself up bring your own. You also need to bring everything with you for making food and drinks as there are no stocks at all and no welcome basket.

"We live in the country and this property was like home away from home but better."
The garden gave the dog freedom to roam and a runaround for our boy.
The property had everything we needed. I was most impressed at having hand soap and hand towels. The cottage was very clean and warm.
We felt relaxed and comfortable here and we're already planning a trip back.
We like the quiet of the surroundings and yet close enough to explore the coast.
We also met the owner who was so welcoming and lovely.

"The property needs decluttering as there is alot of unnecessary furniture which makes the living space small in all rooms."
The property was clean but the grass should have been maintained as it was difficult to see where the dogs had been.
But the enclosed garden was excellent for the dogs

"A lovely cosy bungalow."
Very peaceful and relaxing surroundings.
Bungalow was very clean, conservatory was a real bonus.
Kitchen was good, would have been excellent if there were more cooking utensils and a dishwasher, but it didn’t spoil our stay.
Garden was absolutely perfect for our two dogs, very large and totally secure.
Would definitely consider rebooking later in the year.

"Broadstones is set in a rural area alongside a crossroads /country lanes."
Be prepared for narrow lanes with passing places (also potholes and ruts) when heading out in either direction.
The cottage is well cared for and comfortable, without being luxurious. The added space offered by the sunny conservatory is a real bonus and the enclosed garden is a big plus point too.
The owners live nearby and are very experienced in holiday letting.
The kitchen with dining area is on the small side but has the main equipment you'd need for preparing meals. However, we did find it strange that there was nothing in the way of simple storecupboard items such as salt and pepper, cooking oil, coffee or tea.
The bathroom is modern and the large shower has good pressure. If future holidaymakers prefer a nice big bath sheet, we'd advise them to take their own as the bath towels provided are not all that big.
Overall, we had a good week and were lucky with the weather too.

"Staying at Broadstones gave us the 'away from it all' peace & quiet we wanted to experience on our holiday, particularly during the evening & night time with no passing traffic - wonderful!"
The key highlights of this bungalow were: a, The conservatory with its 280 degree view of the surrounding fields & hills; sitting there after eating our breakfast we saw a hare on 2 different days; b, Not having wifi was also a big advantage because health wise we are both adversely affected by it; c, the kitchen is well equipped which helped us a lot as we had brought enough food to prepare & eat all our main meals in the bungalow.
Thank you Mr & Mrs Widger!
