  • "Lovely well equipped cottage in great surroundings."

Excellent instructions and directions from cottage owner.

  • "Sorry for the delayed review."

We really loved our stay it was everything that we could hoped for and more. Truly a wonderful experience, so tranquil and relaxing with everything on-site that you could wish for. Definitely will want to come back. Thank you

    Mrs StanleySep 2021

  • "Beautiful cottage with fantastic garden."

We had peace and quiet and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The welcome hamper was much appreciated and Mrs Ball is so friendly and helpful.

  • "Our stay at Foley's Cottage was fantastic!"

Initial communications with Judith were warm and welcoming and any queries we had throughout our stay were promptly attended to and resolved. The property is situated in a lovely area with beautiful tiered gardens at the rear. The summer house was a great addition with a small fridge to keep drinks cool, and shelter for respite from the sun. The cottage had everything we needed for the week and we even managed to have a fire on one of the cooler evenings, that said, the central heating is excellent so the fire was more for atmosphere and marshmallows ;) The only issue we had was with the address that Sykes listed on their website and in their communications, which was incorrect, however Judith's directions were spot on and once I fed this back to her she was going to contact Sykes to have it rectified. 100% would love to stay again!

  • "We had a lovely holiday at Foleys Cottage it was a beautiful cottage and fantastic garden right in the middle of all things we wanted to see in Wiltshire."

It was Nice to arrive to a welcome pack and there is a pub/restaurant just 2mins walk which serves amazing food

  • "Foley's Cottage is a beautiful, peaceful location."

It is so picturesque and in the perfect location. Set on its own, but only a short walk to the local hostelry "The Dove Inn". Very easy to get to and only a short drive to many local attractions, such as Stonehenge, Salisbury, The New Forest and Bournemouth, to mention just a few. It is also perfect for a walk in the countryside too. After a pleasant day out, it's the perfect place to return to and relax, either in the beautiful gardens or the summer house. The enclosed yard is perfect for a relaxing meal outdoors in the fresh air, or under the cover of the very large umbrella, if the weather isn't too favourable. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay, and can't wait to return again. There was a lovely welcome hamper to greet us when we arrived. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here, it's the perfect location for couples, families, or a group of friends. I guarantee you won't regret a stay here.

The cottage is warm, welcoming and comfortable. The garden is a delight. The cottage is the perfect place for exploring the lovely Wylye valley. We were sorry to leave and hope to be back.

  • "Wonderful cottage amazing garden and fantastic pub minutes away with superb food."

This was an exceptional and beautiful property and the 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We would recommend this cottage without a shadow of doubt truly magical.

    Mr ShawSep 2020

  • "Foleys Cottage was even more beautiful than we imagined!"

From the quintessentially English garden to beamed low ceilings, uneven floors and even the antique rocking horse, it was perfect! The owners were really helpful and the cottage was clean and in good condition, with lovely extras like toiletries and a welcome hamper. We would definitely recommend this cottage and will hopefully return ourselves soon

    Mr And Mrs Bradshaw

  • "We have had a lovely holiday in this beautiful cottage."

There was nothing missing that could have made our stay any better (thank you for the thoughtful goody basket). We visited Cheddar Gorge (beautiful views, well worth the climb), Longleat, The Bratton White Horse (again breath taking views), Poole (lovely finds at the pottery). Thanks again, we have already told our friends!

    Mr & Mrs Dullage

  • "What a beautiful cottage in a stunning part of the world."

We had three full days of walking (70km in all). Wow!! Forest, hills, wildlife and beauty all around. Salisbury is a lovely city and the cathedral a must to visit. Thank you.... we will be back!

    Mr And Mrs Baldwin

  • "We had nice weather and a very comfortable stay at Foley's Cottage."

We enjoyed days out to Cheddar Gorge and Longleat. As really stunning cottage in a really beautiful garden, perfect for prosecco and cake on the lawn.

  • "We have fallen in love with this cosy cottage, so tastefully decorated with all amenities."

Very peaceful, the Summerhouse was so special - it and the gardens are quite magical. Loved the Dove Inn and the food at the Ginger Piggery was delicious. The surrounding towns and villages are out of a fairy tale. We visited Bath, Stow on the Wold and Chipping Camden as well as Salisbury and Stonehenge. Spent our last day here at the cottage. Thank you for our Welcome Hamper! Most of all thank you for sharing this very special home with us. We hope to return soon!

    Bresnie-Hoffman Family

  • "This was our first family holiday at Foley's Cottage and we had a wonderful time."

The cottage itself is charming, with a lovely garden. The rooms are all cosy and comfortable and the kitchen/diner was a natural gathering spot. The location is perfect for exploring Wiltshire and we made day trips to Stonehenge, Longleat, Bath and Avebury. Warminster is close by for shopping (and has a Waitrose). Several nice country pubs are nearby for evening meals. A lovely place to stay - highly recommended!

  • "Very relaxing stay in a warm, cosy and welcoming cottage."

Would highly recommend Stonehenge, Bath and Longleat - especially if staying with children. So much to see and do in this lovely area - could do with another week.

We had a fantastic week. We loved Cheddar Gorge, Longleat and going on a canal ride in Bath. We had a lovely dinner at the Prince Leopold Inn and got to feed trout in the river! The garden leading out from the bedroom is beautiful. We have had a lovely week in your beautiful cottage. Thank you.

  • "A wonderful stay in an idyllic cottage."

It's a cottage which typifies rural England at its best! Full of character and charm - the master bedroom leading onto the garden is a superb feature. Thank you for a great stay!

  • "We stayed here for a short break in October."

It was a picturesque location and allowed our family of 6 to spread out, play in the gardens and relax at home for dinner. We could also easily get to Bath and Stonehenge. Special thanks for walking us through the last few meters to the place as we arrived late at night and it was difficult to see the cottage!

    Guest's Review On TripAdvisor

  • "Thank you so very much for the wonderful welcome basket and for allowing us to stay in your little peace of heaven."

The house is delightful and the gardens are spectacular. Our children really enjoyed the summer house. We visited Stonehenge, Salisbury, The Eden Project, Oxford and Bath. We've toured houses and gardens but I think for all of us our favourite thing about the week has been our country walks around Corton and our quiet evenings in the cottage. Such a special place.

Mr & Mrs Binns And Family

  • "Thanks to our host, we found your cottage to be Wonderfoley!"

To all the guests that follow, we hope you have a great time too!

    Mr & Mrs Wood

Our girls loved it and it was the perfect cosy retreat for our family Christmas. Thank you so much and Happy New Year!

  • "Thank you for a lovely stay in your super cottage."

We loved the retreat it gave us over the festive period. The walks around here are lovely and relaxing (even with three kids in tow!). We visited Bath which was busy but stunning. We were also given a tip from the lady at The Dove Inn about the Festival of Lights at Longleat - we managed to get a couple of tickets and went on 2 January and the whole thing was amazing. We would love to come back some day.

  • "We came here last year for New Year and booked again because we loved it so much and it didn't disappoint!"

Fabulous stay in a lovely cottage, thank you.

    The Watts

  • "The cottage was charming and nicely located - very peaceful."

Wonderful gardens. The layout of the rooms worked well. Furniture and fittings were comfortable, attractive and homely. The cottage feels like a home and not simply a holiday let. The kitchen and fittings let the house down a little, hence not awarding the top score.

    Christifides

  • "The cottage was very well appointed and very comfortable."

The kitchen was very well equipped.the garden was beautiful and a real pleasure to sit in.....we had amazing weather!

    Anne Hicks

  • "The very definition of "quaint", Foley's cottage looks like your typical old-fashioned, English home on the outside: small and charming (and thatched!"

), but inside was big enough for our family of 4 kids and 2 adults to come "home" to and relax next to a cozy fire after a tiring day of exploring the countryside. Kids (ages 6, 8, 9 and 11) loved exploring, roaming and running around the backyard playing all kinds of games. Going further afield, its location was ideally situated for day trips out to Bath, Avebury and Salisbury. Would not hesitate to recommend Foley's Cottage to friends and family ... but only if I don't book the place again first!

  • "What a beautiful and welcoming cottage."

The photos do not do it justice! We have had a wonderful week here, log fire burning, games. Everything you could need is here and the kitchen well equipped so we were able to cook a wonderful Christmas dinner

  • "Thank you for letting us enjoy a few days in this magnificent cottage, the ideal home for a truly traditional Christmas; it made all the difference!"

Beautiful grounds all around and some crispy snow on Wednesday!

The property

Tucked away behind mature hedges and approached via a wooden footbridge, Foley’s Cottage is every inch the Quintessential English country cottage – thatched, detached and tucked away on a quiet lane, impossibly cute and surrounded by a delightful garden. Unsurprisingly, we fell in love with the cottage when we visited, and are sure you will too!

Inside the cottage is cosy and peaceful yet it is full of traditional charms which give it a lovely, historic feeling.

The colours are restful and muted and with the added attraction of good quality furnishings, you can’t help but feel right at home.

A stroll to the top of the grounds is rewarded by sweeping views of the surrounding downs.

In the orchard you’ll find the well-appointed summerhouse providing a wonderfully peaceful haven for relaxing after a day’s activities in this outstanding area perhaps before taking a short stroll to the famous Dove Inn and restaurant just below.

Its instant chocolate box appeal is obvious, and we’d imagine you’ll enjoy it as much as we did.

The delightful market town of Warminster can be found to the south west of Salisbury Plain, at the head of the lush Wylye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Well known for its military connections, the old charm of the town centre has been preserved, where you can still find quaint houses and inns built from the local Warminster stone.

Nearby there are lovely walks in abundance, while no visit to this area would be complete without exploring the house, gardens and safari park at Longleat.

Foley’s cottage is great for families looking to explore the area of Warminster and the surrounding area.
