Obviously the great weather helped. Brilliant to have the garden with that amazing view. Owner's very responsive to any inquiries.

"Lea at Eype is a lovely, cosy cottage with personal family items adding to the homely feel that we thoroughly enjoyed, the underfloor heating and log burner completing the comfort during our Christmas stay."
Easy private parking nearby, Leas secluded garden at the rear and the cottage’s proximity to Eypes beach, lovely walks and with Bridports close by facilities, make Lea cottage an ideal stay for all seasons.

"Overall, the property was well maintained and generally clean although there was evidence of dust and cobwebs in places."
The heating was not easy to control and although the cottage felt aired and the weather was thankfully mild we did use the log burner each night which added greatly to the cost of the holiday. The heater in the main bedroom did not work.
The seating in the living area was very uncomfortable and probably needs updating. The garden was a little overgrown.
It was disappointing that no facilities for recycling were provided in the cottage so we used the local recycling centre for plastic and glass.
Whilst we did not use the starter pack for the log burner (having provided our own) it was disappointing to see instructions requiring visitors to replace this if used.
Thank you for your valued feedback. We passed on your comments about evidence of dust and cobwebs to our cleaner who was mortified and we have since paid for a full deep clean.
With regards to the heater in the bedroom not working, unfortunately you did not contact me or I would have remedied this straight away. It appears the previous holiday makers broke it and did not report it - we have now installed a new one. Again, my apologies but had you let me know I would have sorted this urgently.
With regards to the garden looking overgrown, unfortunately the weather was very wet that month and prevented the grass being cut until it had dried - my apologies if it appeared scruffier than we would have liked but it can be tricky to maintain in the damper months.
As for recycling, because the cottage is on the village road we have had issues with the wind blowing litter about and foxes tearing it open bin bags in the past. Whilst this is not as environmentally friendly as we would like, to keep it tidier we ask our guests to leave any rubbish or recycling in the bins provided in the back garden - that way the cleaner can take it away without being a burden to you - my apologies if that wasn’t clear.

"The cottage location is perfect and the view is absolutely the selling point of it."
Our only gripe really was the very uncomfortable bed, it really could do with an upgrade as could the vacuum which struggled to pick anything up. Other than those items the cottage was quaint and had all amenities on hand.

"We really enjoyed our stay the location was perfect for dog walking ."
We found the footpaths and could get to the beach without walking on the lane. The cottage was comfortable and our dog enjoyed the safe and sunny garden. We ate at the Epe Country Hotel and the pub just minutes away so no need to drive. We would definitely stay here again as we found it very relaxing.

"Stunning little cottage."
Absolutely loved our stay here and would recommend it to anybody. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Super cosy and the garden is great bonus, perfect for sunbathing and watching the birds. Some lovely walks right on the doorstep; Thorncombe beacon (can be seen from the garden) is short, steep but very rewarding, amazing views! Also had a few days walking to westbay, then carried on along beneath the cliff. Plenty of really good eating and drinking places locally. Rise for breakfast and the Watchhouse for amazing seafood both in Westbay. Lyme bay and the Pilot in Lyme Regis were also lovely for lunches. Felicity's farm shop has some great local produce to enjoy back at the cottage. Luckily only had one day of rain, which was spent having a nose around Bridport (markets on Wednesday and Saturday).
Thank you for our stay, we look forward to coming back some time in the future

"We had a lovely week, thank you."
A cosy, well-appointed base from which to explore the area. We even got to sit in the garden a couple of times, which given the weather so far this year, was a proper treat!
So glad you enjoyed your time - hope to see you again!

"The location and cleanliness were top marks."
The size of the property space was not, there was very little room to move around, and the bathroom being located literally at the top of the stairs we believe to be a health and safety risk. The headroom by the microwave was inadequate for an average height adult, and the sofa past its best for comfort. I would advertise it going forward as not suitable for over 60's. PS: the TV was frustrating to operate.
The cottage is very old and admittedly the upstairs hallway is quite narrow but that how it was built and part of its rustic charm? There is plenty of space to move around as illustrated in the photos so I’m afraid I really don’t understand this comment?
The sofa was recently replaced and is leather with brand new cushions so I am disappointed that you feel it’s past it’s best….
We have moved the microwave to opposite side of the kitchen but nobody has ever mentioned headroom being a problem before.
As for saying the cottage is not suitable for anyone over 60 - I find this to be incredibly ageist! Many of out guests are regular walkers and in their 70’s and very much enjoyed their stay so I simply cannot agree with your comment.
I welcome your feedback however and hope you enjoyed your time in the beautiful Dorset countryside.
We have uploaded more pictures of the property so people can clearly see the layout of the cottage and judge for themselves.
