"Lovely cosy cottage, very well equipped with everything we would need, set in a delightful village with an excellent pub just across the road."
We parked our car in the lane opposite and had no problems. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing stay.
Many thanks for your vey kind comments. We hope you will return soon. With kind regards, Sam & Jamie (owners)

"This cottage is like a home from home!"
all you could ever need in a kitchen was there, also they had left a little pack for dishwasher etc which means you don't have to go an buy things straight away. Everything was clean and tidy with clear instructions as to how to use things. They also provided a welcome pack of local chutney, cereal, coffee and teak and a pint of milk too. I would recommend talking to the landlady of The Elm Tree Inn and asking if you can park your car in their car park which is just across the road as it is all on street parking. She was happy to do so as it meant the road did not get blocked up for her deliveries every day. I can thoroughly recommend The Elm Tree Inn but, book early as they do get booked up and the welcome, atmosphere and quality of food is amazing. There are also some lovely walks around you just need to ask the locals. There is no street lighting so if you arrive in the dark make sure you have a torch. The garden is lovely and you can watch the deer in the morning grazing. Overall a lovely homely cottage and would definitely stay again and for longer as the peace and quiet was lovely.
Many thanks Camilla for your very detailed comments and very helpful advice for future guests in respect of arriving in the dark and the alternative to parking in the lane opposite. It can be challenging arriving in the dark in a village that has no street lighting but we will try to ensure the outside light is left on in future to help a little. With thanks and kind regards, Sam & Jamie (owners)

"We first stayed at Cobblers back in 1997."
We are delighted we can stay there again! It has literally everything one could wish for. Home away from home. The one only drawback was the sofas aren't high backed and were a little uncomfortable and unsupportive. Otherwise it was absolute wrench to leave. Perfect garden too.... we love it. Our favourite of everywhere we've stayed in Dorset over the decades.
Many thanks for your very generous comments. We bought Cobblers Cottage in 2002 as our family holiday home and this is the first year that we have made it available to guests but it was indeed rented out prior to 2002 so welcome back 28 years later! We hope you will return sooner in future! With thanks and kind regards, Sam & Jamie (owners)

"What a lovely cottage."
So well equipped and welcoming - it felt like the family were sharing their home with us, rather than just renting a bland holiday home somewhere.
Thank you for your kind comments. The cottage has been our family holiday home for over 20 years and still is. Indeed Jamie and his family arrived for a week immediately after you and Sam and his family will be coming soon after that. We are very pleased to share our little “home from home” with you and hope you will return. With thanks and kind regards, Sam & Jamie (owners)

"The cottage is clean and tidy with everything you could possibly need for your stay."
We loved sitting in the garden relaxing, the dogs also loved the outside area. It was safe and Devore with plenty for them to explore!
We loved the friendliness of the village and the local pub. The area is an ideal base to explore lots of Dorset’s attractions.
We are very pleased to hear that you (and the dogs) enjoyed your stay and we hope that you will return soon. With thanks and kind regards, Sam & Jamie (owners)

"A cosy cottage that was perfect for our summer stay, with the gorgeous garden and cool, clean interior."
Thanks so much for making us feel welcome in your special house!
And many thanks to you Kate for your very generous comments. We hope you will return to Cobblers Cottage soon. And next time you will find The Elm Tree Inn opposite the cottage is open again. The villagers have raised over £500,000 to buy it since it closed down and re-opening is scheduled for mid July.

"The cottage is a beautiful and clearly much loved second home."
It was the most well equipped place I have ever stayed, with a lovely garden. The quality of the bedding was good too . The downside that as an old home there was a really musty, damp smell in the main living room especially towards the left hand side of the fireplace. The bedrooms and kitchen were fine. The smell dissipated a little over the week with having all the windows open. Perhaps it would need a good airing before guests arrive?
Similarly, although I am not bothered with a few cobwebs and daddy long legs, some might be. And arriving to lots of dead flies and bluebottles on window ledges a little off-putting which could easily be amended. A broom in the house would have been helpful in keeping the kitchen clean, there was only a dustpan and brush, with a wet and muddy broom outside.
The double bed was very soft! These comments are to help make the place perfect!
Thank you for your very helpful comments. We are obviously pleased to hear your positive feedback but sorry that you also faced some issues. We were particularly distressed to hear about a musty smell as we’ve not experienced that in the 20 years we’ve had the cottage as our second home. Since your comment we have investigated and can confirm no damp in the cottage. However we have discovered that the logs brought in from outside and stacked in the inglenook fireplace the day before you arrived were damp from recent rain. Hence any damp smell dissipated as the logs dried out. We are pleased to report that there have been five bookings at the cottage since yours and there has been no mention of any musty smell.
