  • "Nice to have heaters, new furniture and carpets and good to see that owners took note of previous complaint about them."

The cabin was rather ‘tired’ on the outside and could do with re-painting but overall we found it clean and comfortable and suited our needs.

Perfect as quiet no passing traffic or people. Clean, tidy, so many added little extras that made all the difference. Just what we were after.

  • "Despite having a problem caused by the recent storms, resulting in damage to the roof, which was still waiting attention, we had a lovely stay."

The cabin was well positioned (although a long way from the main site areas, not a problem for us, we enjoyed the privacy). Well equipped, very clean - loads of cleaning stuff! Forgot to mention the grill didn’t work well, although the oven was fine so we used that. Overall, great place to stay!

  • "+ Spacious lodge with 3 dedicated parking spaces."

Everything you could possibly need for a holiday. Great that all linen was provided and there were also loo rolls! Location for us was great as it was situated in the furthest corner of the park, about 15 minutes walk from clubhouse so no noise apart from the noisy rabbits and squirrels! - The settees were tired and you didn't sit on them, you sat in them! Over the years the toilet seats have been replaced and the new ones don't fit! Master bedroom needs a curtain like the rest of the rooms in the lodge. The blind that is there is too thin to shut out outside light.

would have been fine for a short break but was difficult for a two week break with elderly parents. Lodge was in a beautiful quiet location, close to the beach and away from the hub bub of the busy site. excellent location, would recommend to others.

  • "Well equipped and spacious wooden lodge with easy parking and free WiFi, very quietly situated in the furthest corner of Shorefields Park."

The Park's facilities (eg shop) are about 15 mins walk away. Enjoyed the woodland walk into Milford village and the walk to the sea front, with it's beautiful views of the IoW. Plenty of interesting places to visit nearby.

  • "Disappointing The lodge was dated but we could see that from the photos before booking."

However, we did expect it to be clean, especially with the Covid situation. There were cobwebs everywhere, a couple of pillow cases were dirty (looked as though they hadn’t been washed) and table surfaces were grimy. Luckily, we had anti bacterial wipes with us. Then there was the wonky frying pan which didn’t sit safely on the hob and a lack of lighting due to missing light bulbs. The outside light was also broken and didn’t work. The lounge furniture was grubby and uncomfortable. On a positive note, the park is clean and tidy and very well kept and the lodge is situated just about as far from the main entrance as you can get so it was very peaceful. The door to the small twin room which has been mentioned in previous reviews has been replaced. After phoning the owner the morning after we arrived to say about the lighting issues, she arranged for maintenance to come and replace the missing bulbs and the broken outside light. Despite these issues, we had an enjoyable stay and would return to the park but to another lodge as this one is in dire need of updating.

It was comfortable and well equiped. The sofas are squashy but comfortable to sit in. It is in a quiet corner of the site which suited us. The pool on site was excellent and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. It is in a good spot to explore the local area.

There were around 5 or 6 light bulbs that were blown, these should have been replaced. The main pictures showed a gas bbq but it was in fact a charcoal one so we never used it.

  • "Shorefield country park was a great place to spend a few days away with our two daughters (7 and 5)."

The facilities were good- outdoor and indoor pools, play area, woodland walks and great evening entertainment. The arcade next to the bar/ restaurant was also a big hit. The cabin had everything we needed, but like other reviews it really could do with a deep clean - there were cobwebs everywhere! The sofas are also on their last legs and we would t have wanted to spend all day in the cabin.

..3piece suite in lounge feels as if springs have gone as you sink right into it..lots of cobwebs in prominent places..shocked during these covid times to find a cupboard full of other guests food?

  • "The property is in a lovely location and the park is great, but what let it down was the cleanliness of the lodge, cobwebs everywhere and dust."

Hairs on one of the shower heads before we had even used it. The lodge needs some updating, one of the doors to the twin bedded room has a panel missing from it which is unacceptable it means the occupants have no privacy.

  • "I emailed you twicw whilst we were away but heard nothing back."

We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the lodge, especially the kitchen area. Due to lots of ants on the worktops I decided to try & clean with anti bacterial spray to see if it helped. I moved the microwave & toaster & was disgusted by what I found, stains, food debris & even a dog biscuit, no wonder we have an ant problem!! Also, the grill on the cooker isn't working. Although it ignites it won't stay lit. I resorted to the frying pan which has a very uneven base making it dangerously unstable. The corkscrew also has the top snapped off making it unusable! There is a whole panel missing out of the door of the smaller twin room & also in this room the battery in the smoke alarm needs replacing as it beeps continually. The lodge on a whole was OK regards comfort but the sofas were grubby & not the most confortable. The location on the park was ideal but sadly one of the worst places we've stayed in regarding cleanliness.

  • "I've given 1 star as Shorefields is lovely and the chalet was in a good position however the property itself was filthy."

Not just a skimped clean but neglect over a period of time. The oven was too filthy to use, the grill pan was full of grease, the washing machine drawer was mouldy, no cupboards to put any food in so food was constantly covered in ants, dust and cobwebs everywhere, shower screens dirty, curtains frayed, piece of the door missing on a bedroom, cupboards too full of stuff for our things to go in but the worse was the beds, the sheets were stained and covered in bits and hairs. We had to root, around in one completely full cupboards, to find bedding to change them. The towels and bath mats were extremely thin and small, not sure if the mats were clean either. This would be bad enough in normal times but at present everything is supposed to be extra clean and sanitised. You send out intructions about extra cleaning, no cushions or books around, and then we arrive to this, stuff everywhere and no sign of any cleaning products being used at all. On emailing your company the initial response was that the owner would come and clean the oven. We declined, this should have been done already and was only part of the problem. We were then offered £50! The reviews and the 4 ticks for this property is misleading, apparently you never inspect properties so where do the 4 ticks come from, how can you know if they're fit for occupancy, as this clearly wasn't? I spoke to a different person each time and was just told it's between you and the owner although my contract is with yourselves, the only contact with the owner was a mobile number that no longer worked, as I'd already reported. I have photographic evidence to back up all the above.

  • "The country park where the cabin was is extremely well thought out and in a great setting."

When we went there was extreme rain and the shorefield staff were so intent on keeping exits etc open for the residents. The cabin was beautiful and very comfortable with excellent facilities. We had a slight problem and had to call the owner who was immediately down to help us. The only problems we had which did not spoil our time there was that the tea towels were clean however they smelled stale so we could not use them. The cleaning was a bit to be desired, corners in the bathroom and under the sink were very grubby. The bed linen was excellent and towels for everyone supplied were good. There was basics supplied (tea, coffee & sugar) and the nice touch was a pint of milk left for us in the fridge. The shop was very well stocked and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

  • "The park and accommodation is very pleasant and our particular lodge was very well equipped for us and our young children."

However on our arrival within 5 minutes the power went off and we were without electric for a good 45 minutes, the maintenance man was extremely polite, helpful and very efficient in getting electric switched back on from outside the property (we had obviously tried the trip switch etc inside the property) The owner also came after electricity was back on and was nice enough. I went for a bath and needed to clean it first as although no scum lines it had an abundance of hair in it and on the tiles, not something you want to find. The property is brilliantly equipped for a family holiday and we enjoyed ourselves enormously at the property, maybe though the housekeeper needs to spend a little time organising the cupboards and tidying. Our only other complaint is in the description of the lodge and park it very much leads you to believe you have open access to the swimming pool and all facilities, one of the main reasons for booking the lodge was the use of the swimming pool so we were very disappointed to discover we had to pay to use the pool. All in all an excellent base for a family holiday and would return and recommend.
