1 Customer Review

  • "Unfortunately, our experience was let down by a couple of issues that should have been addressed before our arrival."

The duvet cover had visible stains, and there were black fruit flies present in the property throughout our stay. What made this particularly frustrating was that the owner was already aware of these problems prior to our visit but did not take steps to resolve them in advance. Instead, we had to get in touch after we had arrived. While there was an effort to rectify the situation, it disrupted our time, as we were out exploring the local area and hoping to enjoy our holiday without dealing with these concerns.

I was made aware of some small black flies/bugs on some new house plants in the conservatory a few days before Mrs Patels stay. I purchased sticky fly traps that go into the plant pots and put them in the plants the day before arrival. Upon arrival- Mrs Patel mentioned the plants having flies and a stain on one of the duvets (about the size of a 50p). We offered to come over and put the offending plant outside and change the sheet. The answer was no. Day two of the stay my cleaning lady spoke to one of the guests outside the property and again clarified it was all good. On the third night I had a message about the flies on the plant ( this turned out to be a delayed message on this system because it was a bank holiday weekend) I drove to the shops to purchase a £2 spray of bug repellent and went and knocked on the door and messaged you. You didn’t answer the door but did answer the message saying it was ok. I think I did everything I could have done to help the situation. The bedding was clean and somehow a stain was missed but we would have changed that, no problem at all. The plant could have gone outside. To have a whole house that’s literally just been completely renovated and right on the quay over a bank holiday weekend for less than a single room in a hotel is amazing value for money. Especially when you divide that cost between yourselves. I think the review is because I denied your claim that your holiday was ruined and the only way to make it better for you was to give you back over half of the amount you paid. Which after I paid tax , agency fees and cleaning etc would have essentially meant I paid to have you stay in my house. Unfortunately you can’t please everyone but I did try and 99% of people are very happy with their stay. Thank you for booking. Property Owner
