  • "A perfect setting for a country getaway."

The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The only slight downside is the comfort of the living area seating. As we had good weather this was not too much of an issue as we were out a lot of the time, but in the winter I would prefer something more comfortable to sit in front of the fire and read.

  • "We have stayed in quite a few of your listed cottages especially ones on Farms, all have been of a very high standard regarding comfort and furnishings."

We think this cottage is in need of an upgrade the cooker although in good working order is very old, the furniture in the lounge is not comfortable to sit on of an evening after being out all day especially for an older person as backs are so low. The hot water went off the owners had forgotten to mention that we needed to press a button in order to reset it as it seems to have a problem. At all other properties we have stayed there has been a welcome starter pack, i.e. tea, coffee, milk even biscuits and treats I had rad the reviews before booking and several said it was nice to arrive and find a tray + eggs on arrival, so we did not take those things, however, we had a jug of milk in the fridge and some pieces of flapjack. I do think that a welcome pack is a good idea so you don't have to go out after a long journey to get the essentials. So we were a bit disappointed that we paid the same or similar price for this property but it was not up to the high standard we had come to expect from Sykes.

We had wonderful weather so was able to explore Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire which were beautiful counties. We would certainly recommend the `Old Bull Stall ` for a quiet and peaceful holiday.

We used this as a base to visit other sites in Southern England which was ideal with the good major road connections close to the farm, as well as reasonable access to shops to get our supplies.
