  • "This is the fourth time we have stayed at this property."

We have always loved the location and facilities offered at this property. Sadly the lack of car parking permits for 2 vehicles is a let down as we booked on the understanding there were 2 permits. A number of fixtures and fittings need some TLC to bring it back up to standard. Also had issues with lack of hot water for a few days. Great property, great location with plenty of space.

Thank you for your feedback and we are delighted that you have returned so many times. Unfortunately, the Council suddenly withdrew carpark season parking which owners had no control over. We have been eligible though to purchase one parking permit which is available to guests. We have an ongoing maintenance plan prior to the start of each season and are sorry if you found something not up to scratch. It is difficult during the season to undertake more than the most essential maintenance in order not to inconvenience guests. Please do let us know of any specifics. Thank you again for taking the time to provide feedback. Property Owner

We booked cottage that t would have 2 parking spaces but due to council only 1 availible. App for car park in Notts forte would not let us pay weekly so had to get up very early to make sure we played at 8am every morning which was inconvenient

Unfortunately, the Council's decision to withdraw season parking was sudden and over which we had no control. We are now however eligible to apply for one parking permit available for guests' use. Property Owner

  • "We have just spent a wonderful week at Harbourside house."

The location was brilliant, the facilities offered were great with a really well stocked kitchen and a lounge full of games, dvds and a cleverly thought out house. Pros included the above and a super games room for all our party, beautiful bedding and well appointed bedrooms, a nice welcome pack and a great outside seating area used daily as we had amazing weather. Cons included the fact that the outside area had not been cleaned at all so we all cleared the leaves and cleaned it, we couldn’t find how to recycle, the kitchen is tight for 8 people and a high chair, the top shower room shower wasn’t up to the standard of the others, and the front windows could have done with a clean particularly the lounge. Having said all that we have already recommended it to friends and the grown up children all from London absolutely loved it particularly the views and the location. We will definitely book it again. A big thanks to the owners.

  • "Negatives : The shower on the landing on the top floor didn't work properly and need fixing."

The duvet on one of the beds on the top floor was a summer duvet and not suitable for use in winter. We had to gather blankets for the person in that bed to be comfortable over night. Positives: The house was very comfortable and had great amenities. Short walk to the beach, shops and lovely pubs. Will definitely book again as a great house in a great location.

  • "Super property, especially for visits outside summer."

Very impressed with wide range of seating and kitchen/dining equipment, interesting furnishing, spaciousness. and view of river from living room. Beds very comfortable. Wi-fi rather slow and some signs of decorative tiredness, particularly in some bathrooms, Top bathroom electric shower weak and middle bathroom shower/tap setting needs servicing.

  • "Location was great, good restaurants close by."

Beautiful water views. No welcome pack which is a real shame, long trip would be nice to have a cup of tea on arrival. One toilet roll per toilet. Shower needs re-grouting to get rid of the mould no window in some of them. Kitchen was well kitted out. Deck was a nice touch. Washer and Dryer provided. Lots of furniture in sitting room. About 8 mins to car park, which was ok because it didn't rain. 3 females had a good break.

  • "Only 2 of the 4 bedrooms are actually en-suite."

The shower on top floor bathroom needs replacing, only a trickle comes out and kept going cold or turning off completely. Nowhere to store food in the kitchen . Needs a lick of paint. Lots of lightbulbs needs replacing.

  • "We felt at home immediately in this beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable house."

Loved the window seat, watching the boats and activity in the harbour. Lots of TVs, games and the pool table to enjoy. The outside decked area at the back is a real asset too. There was little space to store food on the kitchen surfaces and in cupboards, but not really a problem. We would definitely recommend!

  • "Lovely modern house with everything needed for a comfortable stay."

A few downsides such as 1. Kitchen is full to the seams of cutlery/plates/ pots&pans to the point where there is very minimal space to actually put shopping. 2. There could be a few child friendly adaptations such as stair gate options/ plastic cutlery and plates. Overall a pleasant stay and we are sad to have left!

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Harbourside House."

The facilities, cleanliness and actual position of the house were fantastic. The only things I would mention are that despite the fact children are welcome the stairs are a bit of a problem. My 15 month old granddaughter was with us, we knew there were stairs so took a stair gate however it was too wide due to the age of the house and the narrow stairs. Perhaps something could be made to fit? Also the outside area and access to it are not young children friendly. The pebbles within the decking and the decking ‘steps’ were a bit of a nightmare too for all of us. Lastly we were a little surprised there was no welcome pack as in tea/coffee etc. I’ve not been anywhere even during the pandemic when there was nothing provided however small. I would recommend this house to everyone despite the above, we had a wonderful holiday.

Well equipped. Fantastic view and atmosphere at the front of house. The river landscape is constantly changing. Great location. All kinds of shops and the beautiful sandy Weymouth beach is in walking distance. Quiet bedrooms at the back. Car has to be parked away (maybe 8 minute walk) from house so figure that in for any journeys you make. Large kitchen , patio and smallish living room. Large games room down stairs. Electric showers.

  • "We had a pleasurable stay at Harbourside House."

The location right on the quay is great, you can sit at the lounge window and watch the foot traffic all day long. The kitchen is well stocked and very spacious. The only concern we had was with the lighting in the lounge. With only lamps and no main light, it was very awkward to see to read once it got dark. Either higher voltage bulbs for the lamps or bigger lamps are needed.

  • "We were allowed to enter the property early which was very welcome after such a long journey."

The building was fantastic, plenty of facilities and a wonderful view. My only two criticisms were that a couple of the rooms had obvious damp patches and required some sealing of the showers above and redecoration. And the amount of glasses/ excessive kitchen serving plates etc meant that there was little room for food. This property was in a perfect location and we were pleasantly surprised that the parking permit covered a few car parks in the area too. We would love to return to this property one day !

Then the only other time is in the lounge the cushion inners need to be replaced as a lots of feather keep coming out. But the house it’s self is in a great place

  • "Harbour side cottage was a fantastic house in a fantastic location."

There were 6 adults and 2 children in our party and it was more than big enough for everyone. The decor was beautiful, we enjoyed playing pool downstairs. It was in a fantastic location with wonderful views overlooking the river where there was plenty going on. However what we feel let the holiday down was the maintenance side .After a couple of days we noticed that ceiling lights in one of the en-suite shower rooms were not working, extractor fans in both en-suite shower rooms not working, two spot lights in the kitchen area not working and two bedside lamps bulbs not working, We reported this to Dream cottages on Monday June 10th they assured us they would fix it , they asked us to leave the spare key in the key lock, unfortunately they never fixed anything so the situation was still the same when we left on Friday June 14th.We feel this is such a shame as everything else was perfect so I’m afraid to say the house lived up to its name but the maintenance side certainly did not.I certainly hope these things are fixed before the next tenants arrive.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
