  • "Lovely stay again in this apartment."

Great harbour and bridge views near shops and pubs and restaurants. Just a couple of negatives we couldn’t find an ironing board until day 4 as it was hidden behind the large mirror in the en-suite bedroom and was only found when the mirror slipped of the dressing table. The en-suite fan in the bathroom doesn’t work the switch is taped up and my husband had to clean the windows as we couldn’t see they was very dirty also l had to clean patio furniture it was black with dirt. The apartment is very clean otherwise and you will find everything you could possibly need for a lovely holiday.

Great harbour views As advertised Friday and Saturday nights were very noisy as busy pub/nightclub Bed was very comfortable Cleaning was good except for mould around base of shower. Such a shame about windows. A window cleaner is much needed Overall we were happy with our stay and would not hesitate to return

  • "Lovely flat in a brilliant location."

I took my Elderly parents for a 4 night break and they loved sitting on the balcony, people and bridge watching, The parking space in this central location is great and access to the flat was easy via the lift. Only downside is that that the second (twin) room is a little small and lacked enough storage space.

  • "Dreadful. Booked a week and stayed 2 nights."

Feel hugely let down by Sykes and the property owner. Windows were so dirty the view was obscured (main reason for booking)! The shower was disgusting and the Balcony had weeds growing through the decking. Overall standard of cleanliness was very poor and the apartment is clearly poorly maintained. Immediately outside the property major works being undertaken on the bridge. All concerned would have known about the works being carried out prior to our booking and the impact it would have on our stay. The listing said some noise due to the location of apartment being in a lively area - totally understated loud noises until the early hours and then road racing, cars screeching and roaring up and down the road. Property owner agreed to refund half of the cost saying my complaint was about matters beyond his/her control!!!! Sykes did not tell me that when I accepted the offer of refund from property owner they would consider the matter closed and would no longer get involved or help with any thing else related to the matter. Dreadful customer service I would not recommend them or ever book through them again.

  • "Some initial issues with the WiFi and strong smell of smoke were promptly addressed by the helpful Dream cottages team."

In terms of the flat, the location is good with a lovely view but understandably very noisy. The bathrooms could do with a really thorough clean - some areas of black mould, soap residue etc and the balcony really needs attention and a good clean as well as a fourth chair.

  • "Lovely location and generally a good apartment but single beds so uncomfortable."

One was slightly better than the other but settee was more comfortable. Had problems with the lift as the door would not stay open to load car for going home. Husband trapped his arm and broke his watch in the process and his wrist was bleeding. Think needs checking as a safety issue. Key fob to shutter door wouldn’t work so we had to lift with the button inside. Not a major issue but a battery working in the clock would have been nice.

  • "Beautiful apartment, perfect location and views, loved our week here."

Just a few suggestions that would, I believe, improve the guests' stay: Clearer instructions on how to access the key box on arrival - they presently read as though it is inside the car park, not on the outside wall; We couldn't get the remote control for raising the shutter to work; Would really appreciate a mattress cover on the bed that could be laundered after every stay; Replace the white mugs as they have cracks in them; Better toilet paper! Might be worth advising guests about the late night noise from the Rendezvous across the road, nothing that couldn't be sorted by earplugs when sleeping though

However, it is now becoming shabby particularly in the lounge. The upholstery on the 2 sofas is worn out and si.mply putting a throw over them is not what is expected for the fee that is charged. The carpet and Windows would benefit from a good clean. I am sure that it would be easily possible for the apartment to look smart again.

The location of the property and view of the harbour is fabulous although a little noisy but this was easily solved by a pair of ear plugs. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The accommodation would benefit from having a shower in the main bathroom.

  • "We spent a week at Old Harbour view in May 2022."

The property is centrally located with plenty of pubs, restaurants, shops, the theatre, just a short walk away. Unfortunately the downside of a central location is that it can be quite noisy at night. Inebriated young people in the early hours, that sort of thing, especially Friday and Saturday nights. A pair of ear plugs might be a good idea. The views are amazing, there's always something going on. The apartment itself is spacious and very comfortable, with everything you need for your stay. It's décor is minimalistic with mainly black furniture, although I have to say that some of the furniture has seen better days. One of my main worries about this apartment were the reviews about problems with the size of the parking spaces. Nothing could be further from the truth, the parking bays were more than adequate and I had absolutely no problems parking my Qashqai. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment.

  • "Everything was amazing apart from very uncomfortable beds for the children/twin room."

And the nightclub which was open until 2am on Weds, 3AM on Thurs and 4AM on Friday (the 3 nights of our stay). The nightclub doors are literally 20 meters from the apartment and are open for most of the night. That coupled with the large amount of shouting, foul language, singing and fighting below the bedroom windows i am upset that it is not mentioned in the description of the property. At £200 per night the main thing you have accommodation for is to rest after a day exploring the area. As a family we were more exhausted when we left than before our short relaxing break. On Saturday morning the noise finally subsided at 4.45am and we had to vacate by 10am, not the best preparation for a long drive home. However if you are a clubber its is a beautiful apartment with absolutely everything you need for a great centralised stay.

It would have been nice to have a shower over the bath in the main bathroom. When I flushed the toilet in the en-suite it was very loud in the twin room which was right next to it, also the fan in there, so if I went to the loo in the night I had to use my torch and remember not to flush the toilet. The alarm at Prezzo went off very early in the morning on 2 nights of our stay when they were having deliveries. It was also very noisy at the weekend when the bar across the road turned out. Apart from that the flat was in a good position in the town and the parking was great. It would be ideal for a couple who did not need to use the twin room.

We thought the Rendezvous opposite was just a pub and not a nightclub open until 4 am on the weekend. There was a lot of noise from the music and drunken people and shouting. Also, felt a bit unsettled that the key that unlocked the door to the apartment also unlocked the main door into the apartment block which meant that all apartments who had a key to the main door had access to our apartment.

Access was very easy from the car park with both stairs and a lift. Its location was easy to find and with it being in the town, a few minutes walk from the beach and no hills to negotiate, it was ideal. Although the location was in the vibrant Old Harbour, we were not really disturbed by any undue noise, the apartment seems to be pretty well insulated from extraneous noise. The apartment was well presented with most things available. Very spacious rooms and benefited from 2 bathrooms. Two suggested improvements - 1) My wife would have appreciated a wall mirror in the bedrooms to allow her to do her hair and makeup etc. - found it a bit of a struggle. 2) TV stations were very limited, could benefit from more channels - not everybody goes pubbing and clubbing 'til wee hours. Also, a TV in the bedrooms would be a nice touch. Overall, would recommend the apartment

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach.
