The property

The View is a charming, three-storey house resting near a beach in Weymouth, Dorset.

This pet-friendly property boasts stunning sea views, a balcony, and off-road parking for two cars – making it well-suited to a family or group of friends and one polite pet on a seaside getaway.

Stroll from the sea to your new abode and rinse off the stubborn sand in a second-floor shower room while the washing machine prepares tomorrow’s swimming costume.

Whip up a delicious dinner in the well-equipped, first-floor kitchen to enjoy at the spacious dining table in the living/dining room.

Sun followed you home?

Dine alfresco in the enclosed garden while your pup plays safely beside you.

Enjoy a drink on the balcony, accompanied by the historic view of Henry VIII’s castle and serenaded by the lapping of the ocean.

Toss your plates into the dishwasher and settle into the evening with a film on the TV.

When sleep calls, answer in a double or twin bed on the second-floor.

Soak up your local surroundings at Sandsfoot Castle, take a scenic stroll through Sandsfoot Gardens, then a dip in the sea at Sandsfoot Beach, before diving deeper at SEA LIFE Centre Weymouth.

Venture a little further afield for Dorchester and explore Dorset Museum & Art Gallery, National Trust – Hardy's House Max Gate, Maumbury Rings Roman Amphitheatre, and The Tutankhamun Exhibition.

Take that short drive to Bridport to venture around Bridport Museum and Bothenhampton Nature Reserve, before catching an evening show at Birdport Electric Palace.

Enjoy all this and more when you book a stay at The View.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

WEYMOUTH

Dorchester 7 miles; Bridport 17 miles.

Castle Cove is a firm favourite with locals, sitting alongside the Rodwell trail area, Castle Cove Beach is usually uncrowded, and offers safe bathing from its gently sloping shoreline. There are two main beach areas, Castle Cove, new steps to the beach opened early in 2019, and Sandsfoot beach, both with soft golden sand and the vibe of the best kept secret. Sandsfoot castle is just two minutes’ walk from the beach where you will find castle ruins, pretty, award-winning gardens and a small café, offering snacks, drinks and ice-creams. Accessed off Old Castle Road in Weymouth, this area is a real treat for those who want to be away from the buzz and bright lights of the traditional Weymouth Seafront, and yet close enough to venture there when they choose. When you are on the beach you could be forgiven for thinking you are miles from town, and yet you are only within easy reach of the old Harbour and access to Weymouth town centre. If you want to know where the locals would recommend you spend your beach days, then Castle Cove and Sandsfoot beaches are it.
