  • "Pittards Farm Cottage is a lovely converted building fitted out with quality fixtures & furnishings that made for a relaxing & comfortable stay, also spotlessly clean."

The owners, Vivienne & Hugh are lovely & made me feel welcome. I mentioned I was keen on walking so they provided me with some local guide books that I made use of. The surrounding areas are very quiet & enjoyed the local walks, even seeing some deer on one of the days. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage & hope I have the opportunity of a return stay.

Vivienne and Hugh (live across the way) were happy to answer any question or to give me recommendations/guidance. The rooms were immaculate and totally up to C19 standards. I found it peaceful and very comfortable especially the bed and lovely linen! The upper garden was my retreat in the evening time with a glass to watch the country skyline. This location is so well positioned for walks, NT and the sea. I highly recommend it. Mary

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Pittards Farm Cottage is about a mile from South Petherton, in the smaller village of East Lambrook (pub, manor house gardens with snowdrop and national geranium collections, plant nursery, tea room, gallery). Our Reservations team are always happy to assist with any queries you might have prior to booking. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was all we had hoped for spotless on arrival and furnished to a high level with everything we needed for our break."

The owners, Viv and Hew were there to greet us on arrival and answer any questions we had. Set in a beautiful quiet village it is the perfect place to get away from everything but also in a great location to visit many National Trust’s and seaside towns in Devon and Dorset. We went to a new place everyday and still have plenty left to explore in this lovely area for a visit at another time. Would highly recommend this cottage it’s an ideal size for couples and decorated in excellent taste. Thank you Viv and Hew for a wonderful holiday.

  • "Pittards Farm Cottage is a lovely place to stay."

It is ideally located to explore Somerset and Dorset. Vivienne and Huw were superb hosts. Many thanks for the wine/biscuits and milk in the fridge. A very relaxing and peaceful property where many things were provided including hand soap dispensers/sanitizer/dishwasher tablets/shower gel/shampoo and much more. Only one slight amendment to the Sykes description, there is a washing machine but it is not a dryer. Vivienne has left an information pack indicating this fact but has added that she will dry wet items in her dryer, if required. I would thoroughly recommend Pittards Farm cottage.

  • "I have ticked 'met expectations' as this has always been the level at which Helpful Holidays have described their rentals at which my family and I have enjoyed over the past 12 years."

Pittards Farm Cottage is an excellent stay for two, with all the facilities needed. The location is very centrally situated for both the coast resorts and also the many towns, pretty villages and National Trust properties. On the negative side, I am unhappy with the large booking fee introduced by Skyes in the past two years, and the discontinuation of the the Friends and Family discounts which have been withdrawn since Helpful Holidays were taken over.

Beautifully furnished , with a very comfortable bed and huge bathroom with shower and bath, the kitchen had everything we could possibly have needed including a washer dryer, microwave, dishwasher and toaster, plus a good oven. The owners were on hand to greet us and if we had any questions. There are lots of footpaths through the countryside near t and a nice walk to the next village where there is a good co-op for supplies, a nice pub and a chippy and a good range of other shops.

The property

In the little village of East Lambrook, about a mile from South Petherton village, is this detached cottage.

Converted from stables, it is a stylish base for a couple.

From the drive, where a horse occasionally clip-clops by, head up a couple of steps through arched doors into your smart kitchen with its flagstone floor and table for enjoying breakfast over the papers.

For suppers or quiet time, you have a dining room too, also with the charming flagstone floor, where you can enjoy the ready meals available if you don't feel like cooking or eating at the village pub.

The sitting room is cosy, with its oak floor and lovely Knole sofa to relax on.

Take the stairs up to your double bedroom, a romantic room with big bed and atmospheric period fabrics, accompanied by a bathroom with characterful roll-top bath or option of a shower.

Outside, you have a pretty sitting out area in the garden of the owners' old thatched farmhouse, as well as use of an orchard where you can enjoy sunny alfresco meals at the picnic table.

This is a wonderful area for visiting amazing houses and gardens or churches.

Within the village itself is a manor house with cottage gardens famous for the national snowdrop and geranium collections, where you can buy plants to take home and enjoy afternoon tea, or head off to wonderful Montacute, Barrington Court or Tintinhull.

Walk up Ham Hill for superb views from the Iron Age fort.

The closest coast is in Dorset, at Bridport or Lyme Regis.

With easy access to the A303 or M5, Pittards Farm Cottage is a smashing location for exploring the area.
